this shit crazy :takingnotes::takingnotes:

I'm out of the loop so if I'm asking dumb questions just tell me its stickyed, but is there a verified taxonomy on this or a real split from other active species that's been researched? is workman on any of this or is it just a here kind of thing? its interesting that there's like still species being discovered :regularshroom:

They are in fact their own species. This exact collection was sequenced and then sent to me directly from South Africa. I'm not sure what workman is up to these days. I havent seen him in some time now. I sent him a lot of stuff a while back and I can't recall exactly but I'm sure this was in it.

So here's what I have going on.

Trusted print from a community member. Spawned oats to 25/75 poo/coir bulk on March 23. Cased with Peat/Verm/Lime on April 23.

And I run a 110qt. mono with a computer fan that runs every 12 hours for 30 minutes. Bubbler running, and temps around 72 - 75 F.

Where are my pins?

Could be a month or two yet if they do decide to fruit. I wanna say mine only fruited at 80 but I can't recall 100% I have seen others fruit at room temp though.

It's been awhile...

Some IRL mention/request of ochraceocentrata had me coming back to the boards here to try to see what this newer strain is all about...

As far as I gather in many (but not all?) cases natalensis has been mistaken for ochraceocentrata?

I grew from three individual prints ( pictured below) of (what I thought was) Nats a few years back. Although the conditions were more or less the same, some fruited thin and spaghetti like, other more similar to a typical cube.

so my question is for people who are familiar with the differences between Nats and Ochras, and to truly know what I have been growing...

exhibit A - Nats?

exhibit B - how about these? are these Nats?

exhibit C - and these? Nats?

Thanks everyone!!
MM

Ochra, ochra, maybe cube on the third but definitely not nats.

I'm pretty sure I posted my nats grow in this thread but I'm too dumb to figure out how to find it easily.

I posted potency results forever ago. They are weak. I was able to get a killer flush but it wasn't easy. I did a massive run of them. Like 50 shoeboxes and had 3 or 4 fruit and only doing well. I did clone but never bothered running them again.
.

The main difference? Ochra is like the easiest species ever to grow. Natalensis grow only if they want to lol. Same sub and everything. I ran them in a dreamer but I'm sure they'll grow if they want in a monotub

Thank you PhenoDreamers!!
and also to Kloakk for resurfacing that post.

That's helpful. I'll take your word that those are all Ochras, and heed the warning that the third one may be neither- maybe the vendor or poster passed on something that wasn't legit...

I do remember the myc colonizing super fast and it looking very shaving cream like. Another weird thing is I had some bizarre purple contams that I have never seen before with my long history of growing cubes. If memory serves, I believe they were fairly easy to grow - so that matches.

Also - hard to believe the spaghetti-like Ochras(formerly Nats) are the same strain.. I assume just presenting different as the sub-strains of cubes often do, though still a bit odd...

Well.. thanks again!
If anyone else wants to chime in to further verify please do!

Yep, they just be like that. Same ochra culture in both pics (though the taller ones got natural daylight vs ceiling LEDs, so maybe they just need more light to orient direction).

Can someone please help whether this is true Nats or Ochras?
Supplier said Nats but I know a lot of Nats are mislabelled Ochras.

Thanks!!
