It depends on how good the pinset is I guess, I have to recase and the small amount of casing left after harvest is just easier to remove then case around :lol:



The only other option for me is leaving stumps for the next flush and I ain't doing that.

Seems to me there are 3 alternatives. 1. Like Kloakk, you recase tray. 2. You have left divots, and you simply do fill in for the missing casing. 3. Or you can do as I do: I pull nothing. I use scissors to clip the stipes right at the base, leaving no divots. Then I will drench the casing just as it was when I put in fruiting. Of course if you have had a really full canopy, you know that you have drained a lot of the substrate, like I did with the komodo tray. I had had about 280gms wet. After they were cracker dry, they weighed 15 grams. Meaning a lot of water loss to the substrate. When the tray began to pin, I started watering daily with a 20ml syringe to the casing, doing about 50 ml a morning. I did that for 3 days, so I had replaced a little over 150 ml to the casing. This to insure that I didn't spray the tops.

Should I also water the sides or only the surface of the casing matter

I don't water the sides, though they had shrunk from the tray a little. Like I said, there weren't any pins after I had stripped the tray, so I doused the casing with spray, just as it had been when it began fruiting. within a day there were quite a few pins. Syringe of water, I use distilled but I doubt it matters, dousing the casing. Again saturate the casing, 40, 50 ml. If it all gets soaked in, add a little more, Next morning same thing. and the next. Of course my way isn't the only way. It's what I used for komodo, it's what I've used when growing bvi.  Others may do a different variation.

I made 8 T1 pan bisporus plates, 2 look obviously contaminated, I'm wondering what happened with the bottom left :wink:. Now I have to choose 4 that will go to T2 and grain.

Be sure to check your parafilm plates.. I noticed that a decent amount of my plates’ film had ripped where the lid edge meets with the plate bottom side which can leave an opening into your plates with vented plates.  I went back to grafting tape because of this.

Especially if you stack em and the parafilm sticks together between plates.. pulling them apart can cause this rip

I have had this happen in the past too Faht, all it takes is a slight gap from the plate and tape, and the plate is exposed.  Good heads up, I'm sure this has affected most of us at one time or another.

Probably this is the reason. The first parafilm I bought wasn't very stretchy and it was really complicated to secure the plate, but once I did it, I didn't have this problem. So I bought another brand, it is really stretchy, but it sticks to each other if I stuck the plates.

That moment you hesitate to post up a tray that is the worst (by far) I have seen in person.  Blue Springs, just horrendous from the start, puffy sub, then it destroys my 50/50 casing like it wasn't even there.  Ok, I'm done complaining, this is supposed to be fun guy times, not a vent sesh.  I do however like the stacking and size of pins popping, very healthy and happy looking, but WoW, Ugly as all get up!












The Eungai is knotting up pretty good everywhere with a few early birds looking healthy, definitely the better of the two trays at this point.  This one should do well... time will tell





I may have to let the upcoming Blue Springs consolidate more, or bumping the air, but I give my trays air so may be just an aggressive one, all good, hopefully I can play with her and calm her down like an anxious puppy. :peace:

All good, I appreciate the sentiment, they aren't all winners as we know and or find out eventually.  I have seen worse in pictures, but in person, this definitely takes the "CAKE" for me.

An old friend of mine used to say... "You ain't NEVA lied" No worries, a preview of fruits, a few prints, not a complete loss, but you see the hesitation to share... trash trays some days... the price we pay to play.  The cost of business... "they" say.

Very impressive.  Did you use the same substrate and process that you used for your “Monte Grande" grow?
