Poured some fresh plates.  I can confidently say I will probably never use purple food color again. Looks like shit. I pour kinda THICCC so only got 36 outta 40.

I don’t think you could get clean growth from the initial sample. But I’m not seeing any real signs of contamination and it’s just been uniform growth.

You could take a transfer or two. And just send a couple wedges to grain.

I get lots of t0 plates come out clean ,full send lol, worse thing that happens you lose a jar

Yeah no. I’m following both of you. It was where I was kinda leaning (including the it’s just one lost grain jar)

And I do have - couple other plates of transfers working from this so I would still have SOMETHING to go back to

Also yes the little rings can be and often are temp swings or light schedules I thought he was referring to the little blips in pic 2

T7 from spores. Confident with my SAB technique. I’ve seen many transfers with very uniform rhizo growth but still seeing a few like this.

Is this non-uniform growth just varying genetics at play, and/or wet patches on agar changing growth? I can’t see any visible contams since T4 but dead set on getting a completely clean culture to grain.

I think I’ll take more transfers from the plate above but send the below to grain:
