I've been working with some wild cubes collected recently by a friend of mine. I just noc'd some grain, we'll see how they do!

My plin plate turned out nice. Since moving my plates to a warmer room, the growth on the edge looks better.

Still very much a newb and new to agar, but really happy with this outcome. This was a G2A transfer from the grain currently in a mono tub that is having a really nice looking first flush!

I know I’ve got a lot to learn yet, but from what I’ve been seeing lately, I appear to be going in the right direction. Thank you to all of you folks here on this forum, because the info you all have shared has made for an excellent foundation to build upon!

Now I’ve got some transfers to make and some more grain to inoculate!

I mean seriously what can I do about this. I poured at 120 degrees and left to cool overnight. Someone mentioned leaving them for a week or so and I will try that next but I still have like 2 sleeves of plates I poured to get through. I’ve read you could get a paper towel with some iso on it and wipe it down but it eventually came back. The hot water cup trick only works for like an hour.

What are your goals exactly? Condensation is annoying at most. I get more annoyed with the question cuz I swear its been discussed every week for the last month UTSF

Condensation doesn't hurt so what's the issue ultimately?

Honestly my goal is to just be able to see what’s going on in that plate. I can’t see Jack when it’s covered in water droplets.

Leave them in front of hood or inside SAB with armhole covers unwrapped until condensation is gone, then wrap em.

for plates like that, when they happen with already wrapped plates, I first will store them on their edge (I put a mark on the edge of the plate and keep that mark oriented "UP" to avoid sloshing/washing the plate). Then unwrap in front of a hood, pour out the condensate, and THEN i use a sterile 2"x2" piece of medical gauze, carefully handled and folded so that all of the corners are held in my finger tips with the untouched, sterile middle exposed, and I wipe the lid dry. Works well for me, your mileage may vary.

I don’t have any pictures to post, but I’ll say this. I’m never buying swabs again lol. Won’t be problematic soon because I’ll be having access to the marketplace.. so much contamination, I think I was able to save my hillbilly pumpkin culture from a sports swab though so that’s cool.

Word lmao I just thought I was getting a good deal for the price etc. at the end of the day, it was valuable experience, learning how to clean plates made from swabs.

Recently made the switch from no pour to Petris and these are the first few plates I germinated with a smash wedge from another awesome member here. Don’t mind the sediment xD

So I got some agar plates that are coated in healthy mycelium. I want to stash them longer term so that I can keep my strain going without having to get a new syringe. Should I just tape the sides of my glass Petri's and stick em in a Tupper ware and refrigerate?

If you have an insulated lunch bag it will help with the temp swings from your fridge door opening and closing all day but indeed wrap your plates and cool them off till you're ready
