My wife and I both value and desire quite a bit of alone time which works as we can easily support that in the other. However I don’t know that the together time is all that together. Alone vs lonely is an interesting discussion.

Geez, I started a whole thing with my women gonna woman comment. 🫣. Truly sorry about that peeps.

I was in the woods all day connecting with nature. Saw a couple does, some black capped chickadees and a few cardinals. It was a good day.

Not saying alone time is better but time apart is part of it? I don’t know, sometimes I feel suffocated.  It’s definitely in my head but I don’t know how to calm down except when I’m alone, is that a bad thing?

We have separate bedrooms and it works great for us.  We can sleep alone or do "sleepovers."  There's no shame in expressing the want to sleep alone, personal space is respected.  The plan is to upgrade to a queen sized bed in one of the rooms so we can sleep together more comfortably.

She'll also sometimes tell me to go up in the mountains for a few days.  She can see my need for solitude before I can and will nudge me to go be my own person in the woods.

I hope you get someone like that in your life tryp, it's pretty great.

Its just the breed mostly, but things grow crazy in Maine too. I didn't actually grow that one a friend of mine did.
I've spent my entire life in the horticulture industry and its a lot like cult.  Uniformity and consistency is the key to everything. 


I think the biggest mistake most people make with plants is the misconception that they "drink" water. They don't. They breath it as it evaporates. Its the evaporation that really does it, just like mushrooms. Plants grow fastest Juuuuust before they wilt, and training someone to water in a commercial greenhouse is the hardest thing I can teach. Its just like teaching surface conditions. Its intuitive, but the concept is simple once you have the intuition:

Fucking let it wilt.

Im a big fan of deep, infrequent watering. But I also have good deep soil and good drainage. How do roots absorb water from the air?

Roots do not "absorb" water in a liquid state.
Roots "breath" water in its gaseous state. Just as we do not breath liquid oxygen. It would likely kill us although I think it is technically possible for short periods.. Not ideal.

The part of the root that does the 'breathing' is microscopic. if its in liquid water, it cannot work. 

A plant dying from too much water or too little is dying of the same exact thing:

It cant breath.

Same dude. I can't hold a relationship down, partly bc of this. And probably moreso bc I try to give her what she wants and be together more than I'm comfortable with and then come undone trying to fit in that box.

My love doesn't look typical. Makes things difficult, but oh well. Im to a point of acceptance with it.

reading through this thread right now is how it feels to me to channel surf. It's like scrolling through to see what's on cable tv:  lots of little snippets of lives lived....that slowly come together....in a long tapestry of short story segments. Fuckin' cool! :smile:

What are some recommended strains to try? I am relatively new to the shroom world and have only experienced growing and consuming B+ and PE Thrasher. I have had a few great harvests with the B+ but my first try with PE Thrasher didn't go too well. I had lots of aborts.

Start with something from a vendor maybe, a cube ideally. Then after you been around a while you’ll have access to the marketplace and can take advantage of spore print giveaways or swabs or agar wedges, etc.
