All shootings are tragic and many are orchestrated in order to continue to create division.

One of the things our country loves to do the moment another shooting occurs is attempt to determine what side that person was on politically so they can blame the whole party for the death. I think it's rather silly to do that because many shooters are in *rebellion* of their culture when they become shooters, so it's never as black and white as people make it out to be.

I fucking love the death wish movies. those movies and the many like them were a reflection of the time and the frustrations people felt.  unfortunately making movies about the frustrations everyone is dealing with now would result in all sorts of headaches from the ruling regime.

a healthy democracy is one where media can shame the govt into doing better.  a failing democracy is one where govt can intimidate media into capitulation.

Watched falling down recently. Hadn't seen it before but've seen talk and memes on 4chan. It became clear pretty early why those sorts like the film and see there main character as some sort of hero. The wiki article mentions a review written in the times. It gives this quote "the most interesting, all-out commercial American film of the year to date, and one that will function much like a Rorschach test to expose the secrets of those who watch it."

Now if the Oregon judge or Illinois judge blocking national guard being get destroyed in a fire this week then you got something.

My aunt was a judge overseeing company bankruptcy before she retired. I saw lots of death threats that she keep in a box because she thought they were funny. I think death threats is just part of the job.
