Two lovely Pathfinder flushes happening on a single 2-gallon bucket today, one large, one small. The large one will be part of breakfast tomorrow.

This is one of those cheap, box grow kits you can get at Target for $15.  They’re pink oysters. I decided to take it out of the box and plastic and put it in the Martha tent at 90% humidity. I have duct fan that replaces the air inside every hour.  I think it likes it.

Cultivated king tuber when the dappled sunlight was hitting the caps just right.

Chestnuts in a water tub. Agar wedge to BRF/alder cake  to alder/beech/coir substrate at 1:1. Small tray is a grocery store mushroom tray. No top layer. 12/12 for lights, temp 22 Celsius. Ultrasonic mister on 30 minutes per day.

These caps are moist! Is there a variation in spore colour with chestnuts? The only brown spore prints I’ve made previously were cubensis Whyte gold.

Edit: added a picture because that seemed kind of important…

That's exactly what mine looked like. I let them dry out for a day or two in the tub I printed them in.

Thanks JW! I’m impressed with the spore load and now I know the gills aren’t going to be black. I can even see how the spores released, pretty neat.
I let all my prints dry for 24 hours, I might give these 48. They are thick.
Mushrooms with garlic and butter on toast later today. Hope wifey doesn’t make a face.

I was impressed too. I remember thinking you could use these spores like ink. That meal sounds delicious, hope the wife likes them.

I’ve only ever grown cultures of lions mane gifted to me or bought and if not straight away then very quickly they grow slow, weird and sparse on agar even while putting out consistent good fruits, went back to spore and for the first time all my plates are thick with myc that grows consistently

Chaga tea is so good.  Didn’t know people cultivated it.  I may have to look into this.

They don’t, most people don’t know how and the few that have found it has little to no medical benefits compared to its wild counterpart
