Hell yeah man! I'm sad to say I gave up on getting my first and so far only batch of bags to fruit. Will have to try again this year. I'm curious to know how you like the flavor and texture.

They are delicious. Reminiscent of shiitakes, but the stems are tougher in a good way. My blocks have mold on them so maybe they are panic flushing.

Thank you friend. It's the best results I have had with a gourmet species, so it's a nice confidence boost.

This is cool to see! I have had a chestnut culture from Phaethon floating on Agar for a long time and I finally got my gourmet tent set up so I sent my first round into the spawn bag so now I'm just waiting! Hopefully I get even a little success. Good job on yours!

Hen of the Woods is coming along nicely.  I have six bags, and this one was ready to open up and go to flower today.

I’m using hardwood smoker pellets and wheat germ for substrate.

I’ve put together some items that make this almost automatic.  I have a Rainbird humidity control that turns a socket on and off.  I plugged in a cool mist humidifier and keep the humidity at 88%.  I have a timer that runs the 4 inch exhaust fan three minutes of every hour.

So, basically, the fan exhausts all the air and lowers the humidity down to room levels (21%). That kicks in the humidifier that brings it back up.  I exhaust it directly into my basement (66F) and it keeps the room around 25% humidity.  Since I keep my guitars down there, a bit of extra humidity is never a bad idea.

All I have to do is top off the water and clean the humidifier about once a week.  People say it’s hard to grow these at home, but I’m finding it super simple with this setup.

Pleurotus Nebrodensis or Fefulae? White Elf... [Re: Farm3r] * 3

From M.E. Labeled as "White Elf Mushroom (Pleurotus nebrodensis)"  Doesn't look like many of the P. Nebrodensis pictures I can find, but looks exactly like advertised on M.E.

Would you eat it?!  Smells very much like a variety of oyster mushroom to me.  White spores.  Not sure if it's overgrown, but probably is.  Started in December 2024.  Just harvested.  About 3 months total time.  555 grams from an XLSA bag.

That looks tasty, I'd eat it. Nice job!

Mossy Creek King Blue, on cheap "wood" pellets (likely mostly fir or similar) and 20% bran. First fruits from my first attempt at a tent.

Many thanks to mboehm for the culture! I've got several others of yours colonizing spawn and blocks now, hope to have more pics (and delicious mushrooms) to share soon!

Man I'm glad these are coming in alright. I couldn't keep the lions mane jars from fruiting and got worried going to spawn buckets. The teeth growing from the jar are wild looking.

Mad props to space madness for these sick cultures! Handled the heat well and will be kept on high rotation over winter to compare

Also found this cauliflower a couple weeks back, cloned and already sent to grain

Was found on straight hardwood chips with maybe some camphor laurel, will trial on my standard mix before experimenting with pine and camphor additives
Faintest myc I’ve ever tried to photograph

You should join bambus’s crispa grow log we are both working on it right now as well, my grain jars just finished, thin myc is normal for them you can barely see it on grain

Which LMs were those, space hooked me up with some Lions Paw & lions Pride, haven't sent to grain yet... I've been SLACKING on Lab work.

The blue falcon oyster space sent put out 10.5 Oz on 1lb of cold Pasteurized straw first flush, and looks to be starting another

Yep! Same cultures he sent me (: I was slacking also and was hoping to get them going earlier to see how they’d go with higher temps but I’m happy they survived what they did.

@7suns, hell yes I’ll be jumping on there, I’m curious to see what will make them tic 👍
