I’m pretty sure trumps ceasefire was just him announcing to the world that there’s a ceasefire - no negotiations with either party or anything……. Literally Just him saying ‘there’s a ceasefire’ and he actually thinks world leaders will obey him, you couldn’t make this shit up :grin:

It's like when people report the weather and say something like there's a 90% chance of precipitation.
That way if there's some heavy mist that makes you turn on your windshield wipers, they can claim to have been completely right even though it never rains that day.

Israel was firm, on the issue of enrichment and it's right to exist as a country. I presume, the US was not. It is only by treaty that a country responsible for so much R&D has not built it's own cars or other platforms, sovereign. We used to believe against entangling alliances.

So let me get this straight.

There's basically no credible (that is not Mossad) intelligence Iran has done anything to actually assemble a bomb since 2003...

For the record no one in the world is fooled as to why Iran is interested in nuclear energy, but there is a difference, and it's rather big between the capacity to build nukes and actually doing it.

Propaganda is a powerful tool. As much as I do agree with the obvious -> North Korea and Iran are really shitty governments I'd rather didn't exist, that doesn't mean attacking their very existence is a good strategy.

Both countries pursue(d) nukes in a bid to perserve themselves against a very real threat. Both have (had) been quite willing to go to the table and stop that if they could get things like sanctions relaxed. The US - before Trump their was Bushisms - blundered the NK situation pretty epically.

There is of course a huge cost to that for North Korea and Iran very obviously hasn't wanted to go down that route. The Nuclear deal wasn't perfect by any means but Trump ripped it up for literally no reason, which combined with escalating Israeli agression (which many observers were sounding alarms over well before 2023) led to the IAEA violation that was used to justify this attack...

I hope I had made it clear - the situation up until these attacks was not all "Iran is going to have the bomb tommorrow if we don't do anything now"

Now..... why wouldn't Iran go all in on nukes? Israel just said off with their heads! The US can't be trusted to be comprehensible, if I was involved in that power structure I'd want deterrence ASAP after just what happened.

I really think this may be an epic screw up -> I'm talking while the war hawks fight with Trump (some credit where he's do he does genuinely appear to be an idiot unaware of who exactly he keeps allying with, like he was genuinely suprised John Bolton kept trying to push him to Iraqi Freedom Iran) China and Russia may I think may make an aggressive gambit and announce guarantees to Iranian security. They've been very vocal thus far and notably voted against the IAEA decision to announce that Iran was breaching their international commitment.

On paper France has the better army in 1940. The troops didn't fight poorly at all. Epic incompetence at the highest levels of decision making doomed the army to such an epic extent it's remembered as a joke that was no match for the Germans at all. Just becuase the US has the biggest guns doesn't mean no one is going to dare ever try and make a move against it.

This is not a display of strength and I really fear Xi and Putin may smell blood

NGL I'm a young man raging with testosterone-> I'd definitely make the aggressive gambit in their shoes rn, if I' Xi I'm on the ohone with the Ayatollah right now offering to station my troops as deterrence against further agression

What will the US do? Some MacArthur "nuke the chings" nonsense for the Fox News? And Putins finger has been on the trigger he swears since 2022 don't you dare move USA! 500% sanctions on China? 1000%?

Hell the global response will peobably be cherring for China. Lest we forget the grand Maoist dream -> Xi's pants probably got cum stains on them...

There's only but so much leeway to be a total fool. I really think this may end up being quite historic and not at all in the way Trump and bibi want
