People were saying that it was worth the risk of authoritarianism so that we could have lower cost for eggs, less immigrants and no more wars.

None of that happened at all.

Very few. I'm an outlier being a Trump supporter here, but I actually sympathize with a lot of people who are not. Few know what Trump is really pulling off behind the scenes. I doubt I could support him to the extent that I do if I saw him the same way a large % of right-wingers do. To pull off what Trump is pulling off he had to pick a political party he could win over that align with his larger goals. He's definitely catering to a right-wing base, despite being more of a centrist himself.

Democrats would have been impossible to win over if he had ran on that ticket.

so for those paying attention:

-USA had a deal with iran, brokered by hillary and signed by president Obama that was very strong.  trump/USA pulled out of that deal because Obama did it and trump is that much of a petulant child.

-USA was negotiating with iran again when they allowed israel to attack them and kill the iranian negotiators.

-now the USA has bombed them as well in what trump says was a total success.

-trump is demanding they return to negotiations.

so either the attack was a success, their nuke program is destroyed and their negotiators are dead so there's nothing to talk about, or trump and company are lying and weren't as effective as they claim.
