I had to throw everything but gourmets out for some life shit. My tampanesis made it into a trash can that I use for my second stage of composting. I have been babying the shit out of them. Success!

Of course not, those spores can't hurt you.

Prolonged or repeated exposure to spore laden air can absolutely hurt you. This is very well-documented for oyster cultivators - flu-like symptoms and severe allergic reactions, usually after years of cultivation without enough care to avoid breathing the spores.

The amount of spores on the mushrooms in that shoebox is still small compared to the amount of spores a tent full of oysters can produce - and they look quite stuck to the top of the mushrooms - so I would also doubt that dehydrating them would pose a danger to most people. But if you already have a sensitivity to spores (whether for intrinsic reasons or due to years of exposure to them), it could be problematic. Certainly some will be blown into the air.

I run my dehydrator in a bathroom with an exhaust fan, mostly to avoid stinking up the house, but it probably also reduces the amount of spores that make it elsewhere in the house.

This one was a perfect circle with the gill hole in the center, but I let it go too long and it split.

7 x ATL #7

I've got my sterilizer loaded up and ready to go this evening once it cools off a bit and I can have the windows open again. I'll do one more run tomorrow but I think this is going to be pretty much my last big spawn run until it cools off again in October. I might do one here and there if I really need to but damn I hate running my sterilizer with the AC going.

My dehydrator has been completely packed with boxes that look like this for the past 24 hours. Zero issues. My only concern is how garbage they may taste based on those thick spores looking like soot.

I was really happy to find this because it finally solves the problem I’ve been having with a very shaded spot in my yard.

Iirc there has never been a case of a home cultivator on here having an issue with spores from actives.

Yes, oyster spores can cause problems, but that’s because commercial grows drop literal tons.  Google videos of them cleaning spores out of the industrial ventilation when it clogs it.  That’s the level you need to get to in order to cause harm.

None of us are going to get close.

You already know, that looks like our friend squat mac.
Could be wrong though, these cubes are wild.

pic VAT:

4 jars of squat mac I inoculated 2 days ago. I used the plates that I tested the LC on. They were a little dry, but I can see it starting to colonize where the agar is touching grain. Sorry it's not that interesting

Edit to add: x7x+ in case it isn’t obvious.

I could tell from the heavy spore dump, the overall look, but especially the pink spores where they aren't heavy in the front left.

x7x+ is a monster with spore dump but if you see light spores, you can see they retained the pink spores that were the main defining feature of the parent, x7x.

Here's the second flush canopy in a 16 quart tub of x7x+, you can see the spore dump showing a little pink:

You can see it on these x7x+ on the right here:

Here's a pink print of the parent, x7x:

Followed everyone’s advice in QQ and got decent first flushes from these shoeboxes that decided they wanted to grow off the side more than the top by putting them in a water tub

Also got my first gourmets coming in, elm oysters on sawdust
