On another note…although I had a bit of a mess my 2nd time pouring  plates, they came out beautifully! Don’t mind the reflection of the light on the ceiling in the lids.

In terms of placement, up or down is fine. It ultimately will not matter.

Those plates are all in EXCELLENT shape to take transfers from. I won’t go plate by plate to instruct you, but I’d take from those rhizomorphic fans on the purple mystic. Shoot, I’d take those to new plates and I would even send the sectors to grain.

Thermometer gun, as already suggested, is totally worth it.

An immersion circulator for sous vide cooking is also super useful. I just take my bottles out of the pressure cooker, let them cool for a few minutes (probably not necessary but I'm paranoid), and drop onto a water bath set to 125 °F. Take out to pour 20 minutes later (technically when the temperature comes back down to the set temp after being heated by the bottle) or whenever I feel like after that.

It's also nice for cooking or thawing meat.

What is the ideal temperature that it doesn't burn anymore nor is it solidifying with agar?

Oh man goats for sure... they live for that game, the horse on the other hand - thinks he's a goat.

This winter we put her in with the goats so we didn't have to run another tank heater. We have a tiny farm, 5 goats, 2 pigs we had 4 the other 2 went in the freezer, 100 chickens 50 ducks, some meat rabbits and the horse.

Swabbed a few plates with that Maketi F2, should be taking transfers in the next week or so.

This lion's mane is itching to get out.

Up and coming nat/ochr MS plate to work with.

Plates should start coming out more clear, was running dry malt powder, picked up some LME.

That’s perfect! Thank you! I’ll aim for that area on all. For transfers to agar I’m gonna have circles as I bought a cheap metal leather punch kit with sizes 1-10 mm. I can flame or induction sterilize those and get nice little circles.
