What parts of your daily lives make you think people are gonna get violent soon?

I live a fairly modest life for an American, and could do with less if I had to. I'd have to be on the streets with no social services before I'd attack someone over anything. I'm just a couple paychecks away from that being a reality, as are most people, as we've been for a long time. Aint no one got time for conflict as long as there's a paycheck to collect and a roof to sleep under.

Things would have to get a lot worse before I'd be worried about society. I have an essential job tho so I'd probably be one of the last ones scrambling if everything falls apart. A pandemic / war / revolution could start tomorrow and not much would change for me.

thats true, having worked at walmart through all of covid the only thing that changed really was a lot more volume in customers/sales.  we sold a lot more meat and toilet paper than usual. we never ran out of toilet paper though, even though everyone said we did. usually just got bought up too fast and there weren't enough stockers around to keep pulling stock from the back multiple times per day, so the shelves would just be empty for the rest of the day until the night crew came in to restock them.

I feel like having time in the middle of a workday to protest someone a thousand miles away is privileged. Probably why they're dismantling the middle class. It was an experiment to see if we could handle privileges and now they're revoking them.

Could be why they lifted the covid lockdown so quickly. Everyone sitting at home with nothing to do after Tiger King. If we had the time of course we'd all be rioting over each and every injustice as they come up. They say some are still protesting to this day, but the rest had to go back to work.

Might be why students and universities are being targeted, too. Students and faculty have 3 months during the summer to protest 24/7 if they want. The perception is the culture is steered by youth, which is steered by the universities. Plus anyone working from home can more easily adapt their schedule to attend protests.

Oh yea almost forgot retired people. Gotta f them over somehow... maybe a little recession, maybe some untreated health conditions. Then there'll be no one left to protest.

I could see it starting to backfire if unemployment goes up. I guess that's where the deportations come in. They don't gotta deport all of the immigrants, they just need to open up as many jobs as people they're destabilizing. If an ex-fed would rather protest than work the egg farms or oil rigs, they'll just deport him instead.
