Well I have bad news.  Trich is coming for my grow.  Looks like the majority of aborts are were the green showed up.

I trimmed the grass way back, maybe it will speed them up so I can still swab some.

Asking the guy who gave me the plate if it's worth trying to take clones, as I'm not sure if it's MS.

Edit:  stone probably and a shot after the grass was cut aggressively.  And I just realized I posted the stone twice because I am stoned lol.  I'm going to leave it

They're both ochracentrata imo.

The veil fragments on the stipe on the lighter colored ones is an ochra characteristic.  While the darker ones, the ochra center in the cap is more apparent.

Natalensis has a solid cap color and does not leave veil remnants on the stipe..

thank you, I had another nata variety before, unfortunately the spore print was infected with mold, it did not have a veil and the fruit was different from the above two and the same color in the cap.

+1 for ochraceocentrata but very nice looking fruits. Congratulations on two nice grows.

thank you, although these 2 varieties may not be natalensi they are very high yielding and extremely easy to fruit, the mycelium is very strong, the mushrooms with the yellow caps in the middle are very potent, the white and larger mushrooms are of medium strength, so most people so far seem to be growing a non-nat variety...

as far as I know this variety is supposed to be from the supplier ITW.

We usually don't mention supplies directly, as most only sell actives for the purpose of microscopy and not for growing.  As it is illegal in some places.

But yeah, ochracentrata is a great species.  The alkaloid profile doesn't personally agree with me but I understand why other people enjoy it, and it yields well

Yeah we were all tripping on ochras for months and months and the consensus seems to be they were somewhat stronger on average than regular cubes, though not so potent as APES. They were a good time. I was very mad when my weaker KSSS shrooms took over all my ochra bins because I allowed it to sporulate.

Tree frog you have no idea how filled with sorrow i am that this project seems to be ending in trich. :frown:

Did you decide if you will start an outdoor grows yet?

Nah, I haven't decided what I'm going to do outside yet this year.

I think I'm going to slap some of these nicer looking little fruits on BRF and try to get some clones anyway.

I don't know how isolated these genetics are, I didn't hear back from my friend yesterday.  But I don't think it's an isolate, so maybe clones will fruit a little faster.

Some noced up brf/hpoo/coir mini-jars a few weeks old and a couple of quinoa pints inoculated last night.

Those were an aio jar. .

1:1 coir:composted cow manure, 1:5 grains, essentially.  But I probably supplemented with minerals.

Next time I run it I don't plan to sterilize and will try supplementing with worm castings as an experiment.  But I'll keep the nutrient ratios as it pinned well.

I am planning to use the same as pans similar to TF for the grain jars, but have no idea really. Probably top fruiting the brf/hpoo cakes.

I just started playing with lay mixing as well so I will likely try that with at least one of the grain jars.

I have Black Cap Nat spores in a syringe on the way to me that’ll be here next week. I’ve only grown cubes. I’m also just starting with agar. Am I biting off more than I can chew? I started reading and got a dozen posts in and feeling a little intimidated tbh. Although it seems like a lot of you are just trying Nats as well, so can I be in on the learning here?

You actually ordered Ochraceocentrata

True Nats might say something like this if you get them from a vendor.

Also you aren't in over your head, it's like growing cubes just give them more fresh air

Thanks! You are right. I did read, but I didn’t read and comprehend.
I chose it quick as a freebie because I just didn’t want to keep doing cubes.
Fuck. Oh well. I’ll have to find the appropriate thread for this.

Uh, was that written by AI?  It just said pans are in the same genus as psilocybes.

I wouldn't trust anything from that source.
