This little PE7 puck is STILL kicking out fruits, happy as can be living in a teeny jar, under a ziploc, on the table in the dining room.

It ain't much, but it's perty anyways

The morphology of the ones from this puck are different than the rest, consistently. The others have all looked like the ones in my sig, some even fatter.

I threw out 2 more shoeboxes of this culture last night, that makes all 4 PE shoeboxes a fail. I harvested some fatty chonkies from the last 2, and I really hope the grain jars going now will do better.

I believe all the failed ones were from the original vendor LC. All my current plates are from MS taken from fruits that grew on the little puck that could, who is older than all of them :oldman2:

Since my ghost shoebox prefers to grow a million pins on the sides and bottom instead of actual sized fruits I decided to give it a haircut. I’m baking some anhydrous magnesium sulfate right now to dry them… idk how I’m separating the fungus from the coir…. maybe it will be easier when they’re dry. Anyway I’m definitely going back to spore from here… if I can even jam a swab into one of these microscopic caps. That’s life, I guess. :mushroom2:

If I'm reading this correctly you decided to interact with that substrate for some reason? I personally would just let it ride and make sure it has plenty of water to keep it happy. Some PE shoes take over a month to fruit. Let it ride. If you do, it still has the chance to flush.

I was going to try to fruit them indoors on straw like elpico did with ovoids, but its looking like outdoor spawn lol

how are you going to approach fruiting them indoors?

I have some more mulch that I fermented and plan on pasteurizing, then mix the bag of spawn with that and possibly some pasteurized compost.
I saw someone on a discord I was in successfully fruit them indoors on some fermented and pasteurized hardwood mulch in a monotub.

I’ll probably spawn into some shoeboxes and place those in a 64qt ezdial. And then move to one of my autotubs once it fruits….. if I can get it to fruit

If memory serves me I think he said about 2 weeks to colonize from spawn to bulk, then another week for pins, and I think another week to mature. I left that server so I can’t double check. I took screen shots of the grow but not of his response to the timeline. But it wasn’t super long.
