You're pawthetic. You scream from the mountain tops that trump will lower grocery prices, first thing he does is raise prices and you continue to suck his dick and pretend everyone else is the problem.

Mexico has imposed a 50% tax on Tesla vehicles. This is the way.

Someone was trying to convince me that only companies who's factories are in other countries are paying the tariffs. On a scale from one to ten how full of shit are they?

By definition, tariffs tax goods that cross the border, regardless of where the factory is.  American cars have parts that go back and forth from Canada to the U.S. several times before a final car is made.

Soon they won't. More jobs for all.

It will take years to re-align the supply chains.

I suspect congress will revoke these tariffs quickly. Trump has the emergency authority to impose them but congress has the authority to overrule with a simple majority vote and that vote can be initiated by any member and the speaker cannot block it

Factories and jobs don't just sprout from the ground. How long should Americans suffer for this pie in the sky vision? You really think apple is going to be able to produce here and phones won't cost 3,000$ as a result?

Can't find a link for this one

I found some that said trump said he'd double the tariff to 50% if Mexico or Canada retaliated.

Which would be devestating for the export part of Mexico and Canada, especially for the automobile sector.

Quote:
A unilateral 25 percent tariff on these goods could slash Mexico’s GDP by some 16 percent according to Bloomberg Economics, with Mexico’s auto industry bearing the brunt.

A 50% tariff would devastate the export part of Mexico and Canada.

Not quick enough imo, I'm pretty worried over here

You be surprised how fast re tooling is. Half the warehouses here where empty Jan 1st. Now only 2 out of 156 are empty.  New tire manufacturers, new FedEx hubs, new glass windows manufacturers and new dawn foods icing plant moved in. Really want to rob the icing truck one day.

Again jobs will increase, yes the cost goods will increase terribly but with all the overtime or second jobs . People will to busy to notice.

Yeah if there’s one thing Americans don’t notice is the price of everything

The United States has had the best economy in the world for four years, but the price of eggs doubled and now we have a fascist sociopath destroying everything

There is no evidence to support the claim that the biggest price spike of food occurred during the Obama administration.
Michele Bachmann's claim about food prices increasing by 29 percent during the Obama administration was exaggerated, as national figures showed the increase was about 9.9 percent.

2008 to 2016. Avg 5.4+ 1.9+ .8+ 3.6+2.5+1.4+2.3+ 1.8+.3= 19.8% increase vs trumps 7.6% in first term. Bidens 3 year total only 12% because 2022 grain market collapse due the war.

Source

Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) - Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for food

    Specific data points:

2009: CPI for food was 215.531

2016: CPI for food was 237.392

        The percentage increase is calculated as: ((237.392 - 215.531) / 215.531) * 100% ≈ 9.9%
