Now I'm more confused. First of all it that five percent or a half of a percent? Because it looks like a half of one percent, but I think you meant 5%.

Tax breaks don't mean much when everything is overpriced and unaffordable. I don't know what your own financial situation, but brushing over this very real concern of voters isn't very pragmatic.

Also, Washington Post really has a thing for sensationalism, don't they? Of course there's an "enemy within" regardless of one's opinion on Trump. George Carlin has talked about this on multiple occasions. In fact, he was known to make fun of the people who make fun of the people who believe in the Deep State, because he also knew there was a Deep State. In his famous, "The American Dream" act, he goes on for a few minutes about how the Owners of this country have long bought and paid for the politicians and businessmen.

"They call it the American Dream because you'd have to be asleep to believe it."

I support anyone who wants to attempt to clean house.

No, it looks like they said “the economy is really hot so we have to slowly reduce the interest rate. We might be able to drop it .3% next year.”

Interest rates are not tax rates.  The Federal Reserve has no authority over tax rates.

It's an indication that rate cuts are in line with the Fed's mission to keep inflation and unemployed to a minimum while making sure to buy enough government bonds to fund the government.
