It's the front and back of the same jar in the last picture.

So if that one is contaminated, what bout these? These are three different jars.

This.  I have some PE in BRF cakes that are taking about five weeks to finish up.  They are not wet like the ones pictured above.

Wet is bad.


That's what my first jars looked like too though, when I used a syringe I bought?

They are only wet where the mycelium (if it is mycelium) is growing. Before that it wasn't any wet patches.

Yeah I'm not watching that.  Every youtuber I've seen is a hack and I don't ever use their advice. 

You need to first be focusing on just getting good technique down instead of trying to "breed" the new thing.  You are not there yet, you wouldn't have the skill to recognize it if it did magically happen.  You are cutting corners instead of working on your fundamentals.  You start this hobby at the beginning and work your skill set up to where you can make crosses and recognize if they are in fact faster or better than what is already available, which they will not be.  Without those skills you will not know why your grows are doing what they are doing, just like you can't recognize the bacteria present in all of those cakes :shrug:

I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just plainly stating what is going on here.

I'm not trying to cross breed the new thing, I'm just doing PF tek as he says it's a powerful method to let the spores compete and the strongest will fruit out and then you clone them.

I have read a lot and I don't see how what I'm doing is different from what I did first when I bought a spore syringe and did PF tek, just like tons of other people are doing here and everywhere?

And I have checked a lot of pictures and videos of contamination and I haven't seen anything that looks just like clear water condensation? It doesn't look slimy and the vermiculite is not sticking to the glass with goo around it, and no strange colors.

If it's full of bacteria I'm sure I will smell it when I open them, or I hope so, because if they smell like mushrooms like the first ones I did with the spore syringe I bought, then I will keep going with them.
But how come they grow so fast if they are full of bacteria? Shouldn't it slow down the growth?

Will see what happens soon enough. It's a learning experience either way. :grin:

Inspired by my F+ and Nats growing like gangbusters in my compost pile, I decided to replicate their outdoor conditions in a more controlled environment (mainly so I don't have to deal with so many slugs!) to see if I could get similar results.

Started these back on June 4th in my outdoor cold frame with some extra spawn I hadn't touched in over a month...

Mexican Dutch King (2 2/3 cups spawn in 1 gallon of substrate)




Melmac (5 1/3 cups spawn in 3.75 gallons substrate)
