I honestly don’t give a shit, but watching folks who hate trump get their panties in a knot WHEN THEY GIVE HIM MOST OF THE COVERAGE he gets, is hilarious.

He can FUND his own obscure socials and news, but legitimizing it on MSM (even ridiculing it) is what gives him credence.

Republicans voted for him so that the base wouldn’t split, which is the common sense decision when you have a candidate with a cult following who will run independently because he has no real loyalty to a party.  Trump would run under the blue ballot box if the democrats would have him, he’d switch everything he ever said if it guaranteed a win.  I don’t believe he means 80% of everything that comes out of his mouth.  Like I said before he’s trolling his way to a legit shot at the presidency and giving him attention (even for negative things that should cut his support) is stupid.  You DONT. Who is being swayed by all the extra attention though? Maga would vote for him regardless of charges. His shenanigans have cost him many former allies. I don't think negative attention equates to better chances. I remember reading that Hilary had more negative news stories printed about her than any previous candidate

There's a good bit of debate on that quote. The context seems to imply that he doesn't support seizure of political power by the working class, when we know he did. The quote however is muddied in that Marxism in the true context was a quite radicalized rather and extreme "Marxist" movement of which he didn't support. Or at least that's my take.

The problem is the people who deliberately elevated Trump have nothing to lose from him gaining power.

The rich will get their taxes cut.
Big business will get deregulated.
Media will get ratings and goodwill.
Democrats will fundraise.

Conflating those groups with “the left” is to miss the point of Trump entirely.

Whether he does or doesn’t he’s already served his purpose.

He took a nation that had begun accepting the normalcy of Obama-style liberalism with a strong will to push it even further left, and rapidly jammed us back to the right. So much so that an entire decade of politics just stopped because the only agenda item on the docket is “stop Trump,” and the farthest right Democrat of the last 40 years became President and is hailed as the next FDR.

Best case scenario for normal people is Biden winning reelection, then he and Trump both immediately dying after Biden’s inauguration. I don’t think Harris is some transformational figure but she at least has a functional brain and can see which way the wind is blowing.

Clinton was already a known quantity. There’s a reason she was the least liked presidential candidate of all time, rightfully or not.

Conservatives’ electoral strategy is to depress liberal turnout.

Liberals’ electoral strategy is to make conservatives feel bad about voting for the conservative.

It’s no surprise why the former works and the latter doesn’t, especially when both candidates are conservatives.
