Not particularly. So there's not much chance that transfer plates from a source that had mold can be clean?

Picture did the whole culture turn green or just one section?

If they were separate at the initial transfer you might be able to clean it up with some warm pours or sandwich tek

I'd go back to Spore personally.

Green stuff showed up in the middle of and underneath mycelium after about 10 days. So sneaky.

Was that bottom sector's strained looking growth a warning sign?

Edit: Could have been between 10-14 days

That bottom section is mold 100%

Was that from this plate? ^^

I have 4 plates, this one has the most myc. This is my first grow so it’s going to be a just a shoebox so I don’t need a lot of dishes. Should I toss the mother dishes outside?

I don't think it was that one, no.

The whole culture didn't turn green, but there's some green popping up in a few places in the bottom part. It's visible on the picture.

Poured too hot but these cultures are loving the grain soak agar.

Is it possible that my spore syringe is no good? This isn't the only germination from it that turned green after 2-3 weeks.

Assume all spore syringes are contaminated to a degree. I recommend BRF pucks if it’s real bad.

Maybe my inoculation technique was the problem. I just placed the drop of spore solution on the dish, I didn't streak it because I was having problems not cutting the agar with my loop.

As a side note I also tried a technique someone here mentioned where I dug a divot with the loop and put the drop of spore solution in there, so it wouldn't roll around the plate. 0/5 of those plates germinated at all, so I'm calling that one a failure.

Edit: And the reason I bring it up is because if the cubensis spores are mixed with mold spores, then spreading them out would allow them to form multiple colonies which I could then isolate. Is that correct?

Anyone have a recommendation for a good set of glass petris?
Kinda tired of buying plates that I just end up trashing

I've enjoyed using Corning petris.  Note the discount for 2+ boxes of 12.

I got these on the zon.
Good quality but not cheap. However I wouldn't get 100mm again for glass because glass is harder to handle than poly at that size. Or maybe my hands are just too small.

You know what they say:
Small hands, ...

small gloves.

You'd think so but half of the pics I see here are of someone wearing the wrong glove size.

Another transfer once it grows out maybe... then millet and a ziplock. I've been doing a lot of reading, not really sure when it is "ideal" to transfer to a new dish.

Do we not like 100 x 20mm for glass plates?

Also, do the falcons have any grippy texture / can you see through the bottom?

I've yet to try glass plates, but I feel like the extra weight would fuck me up if I went 100x20.

Wish they had 60x20
