When it comes to slants, y’all just pre pour before putting them in the pc right? Or do I just pour them like I would a stack of plates?

Wish I had more pics of the tubs. That one only started looking like that after 6 weeks or so. Ive had others that looked better. Regardless they never pin. Its been 72F in the house. Afaik even bacterial jars are expected to yield atleast SOMETHING.

Ive posted many times. People on here are probably gettong as sick of my failures as i am at this point.

I never bother spawning bacterial jars for this exact reason. Best case is usually a shitty yield that wasn't worth the time and resources and worst is that it explodes with mold and I have to clean it up. It's perfect or compost, one way or another. I shake my masters at least a couple of times to test bacterial growth and recovery that might become hidden after a few days.

Looked at your agar pics. Had the same issue once. Turned out I was growing random white mold and bacteria. Could try switching the malt out for PDA if you think the media might be the issue but for me it came down to what I was selecting from the germination plates and my aspetic technique sucking.

Putting cultures through water agar has become my standard practice for a T2 transfer to ditch most of the bacteria on the dish that sometimes isn't o obvious to the eye. Good idea to test your SAB (or rather, your environment isn't full of particles that take much longer to settle than green mold spores) by doing a plate exposure over a few weeks if bacteria seems to be getting everywhere.

When I moved last,.my plate contamination rate went from 1/10 from the old place to 6/10 after sitting for a week post-pour. 10/10 after two weeks. I didn't notice it at first because I was using the plates quickly and assumed I had the SAB technique down. Eventually gave up and bought an FFU, lol. SAB efficacy is something to think about maybe.

Ive experimented with water agar as well.

Twa is transfer from water agar.

People here seem to expect atleast some yield even from bacterial jars. So even if my spawn jars aren't all 110% I should have expected to get atleast something by now. Instead the tubs never pin.

These jars should give me SOMETHING.

Are you sourcing all you spores from the same place? Trusted vendor/trade? :confused2:

I wouldn't mind sending them to be honest.

If you got the substrate to spare I say go for it. I would spawn them to shoeboxes as to keep the resources used for it to be limited.

If what looks like blue bruising on the mycelium is a reflection of something in the background at the top of the jars I would have 0 problem sending those to their own shoeboxes.

I've had the same scalloping issue with several varieties, especially ape. I find for the most part it presents differently on grain so the tomentose appearance doesn't really matter. I think that's just some ape.
I've had scalloped, wispy/weak growth before on plenty of plates, sent them and they were fine. Others turned out bunk. Best you can do is just send them or try to do an aerial transfer onto water agar or you could try a josex poke onto brf puck if it is enmeshed bacteria.

Oakridge

Probably not much there if you really dug into it, but on the surface it at least has a cool origin story

First timer here how does my plate look? And when should I do transfer? (if this is good growth) b+ via swabs. The black you see isn’t that dark in person and it’s just from the spore swab just hard getting good lighting. TIA

Depends on your goals and how much you have going on.

Right now I'd just focus on keeping things clean.

That looks a little weak, but it's new mycelium.

Spread to as many plates as you'd like then upload pics again.

Here's a transfer tree of some of my agar plates. The top one (germ plate) started turning green. Should they all be tossed, then?
