The only thing I can think of is increased contam load that has been germinating in there, but it's a liquid so it should  be easy work to kill it. Malt extract is supposed to be non diastaltic so it shouldn't ferment or fuck up the nutes/enzymes since all that shit has allegedly already happened before they cooked it and dried it.

So if I don't see anything in a week, I can be 99% sure that they are uncontaminated? Is there an earlier point of 90% confidence?



This is malt extract agar (10g agar, 15g light malt extract, 500mL water). It was clear when I prepared it, but the dark specks always appear after pressure cooking, unfortunately.
