Sorry for your loss that’s always a bummer. But just let it all go let this lemon thing go. Just let it end it doesn't matter.

Dude just stop and give the thread back to cultivation discussion.

Let me start : how wet do you guys keep your sub surface? (don't link me that proper surface condition post please). I like mine pretty wet and all bubbly but I let it somewhat dry when I see pins.

I keep my surface moist all the way through. For the most part this requires no effort, and I have never given thought to reducing surface moisture at any point in the life cycle.

If it’s too dry I’ll mist, but I’m starting to think that’s due to not giving certain cultures enough coir. My field capacity is pretty dialed in, so my conclusion is that dry tubs are the result of thirsty cultures.

Any opinions on that?

Field capacity is actually not an exact thing. You can use between 5-7 parts water to coir without noticing much difference at the squeeze test. IIRC p9 uses around 7:1 ratio

I have noticed that it has some wiggle room. I never weigh my coir. Maybe I should? I just overhydrate and then adjust with verm. I haven’t had problems, then again maybe I have and I didn’t attribute it to the substrate.

I fuckin love growing and I fuckin love tripping. Two of the best things I’ve stumbled into in life. Made everything better.

I got some spores for stone producers a while ago, I’ve been dying to get them started (or more cubes) but I’m in the same boat as some other poster a few pages ago, I ended up with may more jars of dried cubes than I needed. Haven’t been giving many away cause my friends gossip too much to tell them I’m growing (and most don’t enjoy psychedelics anyway) so I’m on growing hiatus until I’ve eaten more of my backlog :tongue2:

The last half a year growing has sort of replaced consuming them for me, it’s been an incredibly fun process.

Generally, I find cult very gratifying. More so than harvesting, and tripping even. Agar work is my fave part, but I post all those pics on a dif thread.

Here’s something neat I’m working on currently: a P. natalensis culture which looks pretty healthy to me. Is my first time running this species, am hoping for first fruits in a week or two.

Love it! Don't even grow because I need the fruits anymore. Just grow because I love the process and find it very satisfying. Been branching into exotics and have been enjoying the learning curve.
Reminds me of just starting out again.

You know and I’m just gonna say it. I purposely grow contaminated grows so that dumb mycelium suffers throughout its life cycle.

Exactly so, harvests are cool and all. But with cubes, at this point, I basically only grow them for the sport of getting a pretty photograph of someone else’s cool cross, or for sharing prints.

Trying out Nats and Mexicana, about to start my first Panaeolus bisporus grow too. Eventually it’ll be exciting to compare the effects of consumption between the diff species. But for now it’s just the excitement of growing something new to me.

I enjoy this stuff too much. I don't even eat them. Agar is my favorite process. I'm not a fan of harvesting or disposal lol
