In general cultivating psychedelic mushrooms rules. I don't do anything with them; I barely ever trip shrooms anymore, haven't tripped in over a year now. I definitely don't sell drugs and I never give them away to other people except in extremely rare circumstances. I quit pot and all other things and am old and boring now. But I love growing psychedelic mushrooms..it's like a fun little secret. And it's interesting as fuck..

Yes. I too haven't eaten them in over a year now. Kinda over did it when I started growing, tripping every week or other week. Took a tolerance break that just kept going. My cult has only ramped up though.
I once tripped every day for 2 weeks. I wish I had some dope story about these times... But I just watched old twilight zone episodes the entire time. Very lackluster.
Oh I got a dope story. Picture this Christmas Eve 2020, height of the pandemic lock down panic everything.
Had a nice 20g fresh trip, watched That 70s Show, then on the come down I got to watch a fight in the McDick's parking lot, ending with 6 people arrested. Christmas Eve in the middle of a pandemic sounds like the pefect time to go jail.

I only trip once or twice a year. Do many of you folks who consume them only infrequently if ever, do you also grow gourmets/inactive medicinals?
Iโve got a couple oyster grows under my belt, but for some reason I keep growing actives, even though I donโt need to put any more in storage. Not sure why, beyond it just being fun to cultivate. Do you get as much enjoyment out of growing other stuff?

Not sure if this needs to be looked at again, but this thread has been a slog to read in the past few days,
from the initial post:
"So, here's a thread where nothing is off topic as long as you can somehow draw a connection between it and cultivation."
Cultivation definition: "the action of cultivating land, or the state of being cultivated."
I'm here for all things cultivation.

Tedoro do you have a picture of these low profile monos you use? I've been using mini monos lately and they really take up some real estate. For no reason really. All that extra height goes to waste. Shoeboxes do ok but they don't quite have enough height. Some of my fruit just go all crazy like spaghetti noodles after they hit the top.

I use the standard 28qt sterilite under bed totes. sometimes called boot boxes. I don't feel they are great for beginners. The crack in the lid is too close to the substrate. They are awful to use unless one puts a tiny bead of hotglue on the lid, to close the gap on the corners (which is slightly wider than the crack elsewhere) They preform fine for me after that is done. I wouldn't use them If I had tons of room, but I can't be the only one that is only restricted by space. So I love having twice the substrate in the same area. My golden teachers care not at all about the low ceiling. They just push up the lid if they need to. But thats only when I'm late on harvesting.

does anyone else think that the unicorn T3 bags have gotten smaller? i used to be able to fit 6 quarts of grain in each bag (6 bags total) in an AA75x but now i can only fit about 5.1 quarts in each bag. any else noticed this? it's like the actual dimensions of the bags have gotten smaller over time.

White Tail Feather prints

My prints came out extremely light. Some non existent. The ones with all white gills are the ones that didn't drop spores. I'm not sure if they are sporeless or what. Next time I'll probably just swab.
Just waiting for marketplace access now.

I wouldnt say they are extremely light, that would be barely visible. They do look semi-light on some of your prints thou. Must be strain i guess :strokeboard:

Been there, the 5 year mark is about when that frequency got old for me. Eventually pushed me off shrooms for years. A good trip every now and again is enough for me nowadays

I think I've only tripped 3 or 4 times while I've been cultivating. One of those times was supposed to be a "microdose" , but it was surprisingly potent I definitely get a lot more out of growing than I do consuming.. I've got a couple gourmet cultures that I've recently thrown in the rotation, but for some reason I'm far more focused on growing actives that I don't eat not really sure why.. it would make a lot more sense for me to be culting gourmets

I think a drop in bloodsugar happens when shrooms kick in. This causes all sorts of nerve issues in the brain with vision, hearing, and cognitive function. This drop then causes the brain to trigger adrenaline excretion to metabolize fat into glucose. Adrenaline coupled with tripping and the nerve misfunction causes a panic anxiety state and a bad trip.
This is my theory is all.
I believe the opposite. As it kicks in the sympathetic nervous system goes into overdrive. This always causes a blood sugar increase, not decrease. You need energy for that fight or flight.
I also cult gourmets, or ATTEMPT TO. The only thing I can get to work consistently is Oysters. And Panus lecomtei. Edibles and medicinals can truly be a bitch, it fascinates me that it's much easier to grow Pan Bisporus than Reishi, for example.

i trip a fair bit, not mushboy levels but 1-2 times a month with occasional microdosing on my days off. itโs nice to have an unlimited supply on hand, & i do have friends who help me get through my stash that inevitably builds up. i think actives are just so rewarding to grow & they are much easier to fruit for most people than gourmets. i would LOVE to grow oysters & lions mane but my climate sucks ass for them outside a martha & i donโt have the money or room to build a whole ass martha rn
also, the sheer amount of phenotypes that cubes & other actives have make growing & crossing so much fun to do
