Cut plins above the surface a little bit, and don't get mycelium from the plate with them. Otherwise you don't have a clone, unless you started with a clone.

I’m looking for a doc with advice on selecting sections for transfers—I’ve seen some suggestions within this mega thread which help. Pardon the messy MSS plates. 3 drops was way too much. Thank you for any information or suggestions.

It’s a germ, yes. 2 layers micropore over a 1/4” hole. Inelegant, but seems to be working for everything else I’ve done in them.

I notice mycelium can friz out when there is higher humidity. I see condensation on the right side of the glass, so I think that might be at work in your case here.

Ohh sorry lol I think the 3 holes is a great idea anyhow. Would make for easier maneuvers.

It looks like you chose the best areas on those dishes to sample from. Only thing I could say is if you wanna take more then grab from those leading edges that keep going past where you took from. Those edges look clean and uniform so really probably are best.

Haha I might of if it was lying around.  I know some folks love crown, but I love their style & branding but don't care for the liquid inside. I think this one was a gift from awhile ago.

Return it and get the ingredients separately, agar agar and light malt extract.

Many reasons not to use a premix.
