You've already opened it so there's a chance contams got in. But yes, you can just re-melt it. Pop it in the microwave with the lid closed and do it in short bursts (like 1 minute or less) or put it in a pot of water and boil it. Reheating agar in sealed bottles makes me really nervous but it is regularly done.

Also, why not just pour more plates? I just used a sleeve of plates I poured 8 months ago and they worked perfectly

Thanks bigfoot! I’m going to try and use it. I only opened and then closed it in my SAB and tried to use good sterile technique. The three plates I poured are clean after 16 days. I only poured four, and broke one because it was my first try with agar and I was nervous.
And I even have what I think is some healthy P.E. Mycelium growing on one. I’m very excited about my new little baby.

Time for another run of Ps tampanensis and King Oysters. Current set of tamp jars are about 3 months in and the first run of Kings are loving the cold room(pantry) at my folks place.

Which size coffee filters for yeast sediment? Mine are still passing the sediment through :crankey:

Gonna try the doubling cheers.

The yeast is for nutrition not colouring - you'd say charcoal does the same as yeast? I just bought some as I'm testing out a bunch of recipes this week.

I think he is saying that if you use charcoal you dont have to worry about sediments because the plate is full black anyways.

One time i used so much charcoal that the plates weren't even translucent.

I use regular ones, after about half it'll damn near stop. Keep it swirling and it'll filter through pretty quickly.

Yeah they all have different sizes though like size 4, size 1x2, a whole different bunch.

I had taken down some notes from when you recommended this and the swirling still didn’t do shit to help in my case. The doubling up filters worked well for the sediment just painfully slow, thanks D3. Crack I’m thinking if I had the same size as you the sediment and stirring wouldn’t be a problem.

Motivation and mental health hasn’t been the best recently. Been drinking excessively so I’m cutting it out til Christmas. Started taking guarana, omega 3, ginkgo and rhodiola rosea,  finally had the motivation for this little pour so it meant something today. I’m gonna try give it another shot tomorrow.

Currently about to take some Natalensis swabs. Think I’ll eat some fresh tomorrow after my pour if I do get round to it.
