In the top pic, on the left-most mycelium - that sort of diamond pattern.... is that ok? I've had some pan cyan plates that looks like that recently and scratched my head wondering if it was some kind of mold. Here is an example:

First try at growing, was going to pf Tek then the research began and suddenly I'm working agar. B  and GT second transfers. The b  is looking great, gt is doing okay, one plate has some contam. Should I bin that one or should I be safe to transfer off? (Using a SAB) (using the app and trying to get photos in a post is a not ideal experience)

You’ll be fine to take transfers from bacterial plates, it’s the sporulating mold that you have to worry about. I’d say take transfers and go forward with the hobby

Sweet. From what I've been reading as a general rule if it's green, bin it. But I'm still just starting this knowledge journey, thanks for the input mate!

Yeah anything green is usually trich and it’s sneaky af because it’s so efficient and subtle. If you’re working in a sab and you have mold on a plate that you really want to pull transfers from you can do that plate pay and then spray the fuck out of your sab with iso to kill the spores before your next session. Bacteria doesn’t travel through the air well, so you’re usually able to take transfers from bacterial plates without worry, but mold spores travel super well.

Thanks again for the information, was wondering about contamination and transfers for a bit. At this point if it look like trich I'm just binning it, from what I've read it can become a problem.

Figuring I'm going to go transfer 4/5  then start shoe boxing to see how the geneitcs are for fruiting.heres hoping I find a decent sub strain to further the genetic refinement process. Thankfully from what I've been seeing GT and B+ are pretty easy to find desirable traits to clone.

The plate fruits that started these plates seem they likely added spores to the culture, and look at that plate fruit... I'm gonna separate the cap and stem so I can take a clean clone sample separately from the cap that may add spores.

Some Avery's Albino on honey agar (my LME powder had turned to sludge), no pour.

The 5 are from a clone off my loofah grow. The 2 are a culture that I started from a "print". Someone on reddit asked me to print an Avery's fruit and inoculate some plates on blind faith and it worked surprisingly.

Edit just to clarify, the two plates were pulled from a slant I made cause I didn't have room to work with the culture but it only colonized about 1/5th of the way through I'm assuming I contaminated it, so this is my attempt to rescue the culture

Yes, they do and yes, I did.

You could kinda see a bit of shine in the shape of a gill on the foil so I grabbed from that area.
