Yeah albinos have clear spores. A lot don’t drop them very well though.


I did the same thing a while back with Avery’s, printed the caps like normal but outlined them with a marker so you knew where to streak.

Indeed, I tried printing them on a few different things when I first got my hands on them but couldn't see anything really, some faint shimmers. Then I read that it's common for a lot of mutants to have spore release issues so I figured well albino is a mutation.

I took a couple of swabs I still haven't used and just kept cloning.

How did your Avery's print plates work out?

I finally got back into the SAB to take some transfers. Got into a bit of a rhythm, snagged a really nice looking bit of myc from a yeti plate and promptly transferred it directly onto the lid of the receiving plate lol :facepalm:

No picture to attach from that experience, just imagine me simultaneously laughing and ripping my hair out...oh well, fortunately I had plenty to work with (hopefully) :shrug:

I was clearing condensation from a small plate using a 1/4 cup metal (flat bottom) measuring cup with boiling water in it. When it came time to remove the measuring cup, I did, happily walked away, got about 10ft and realized the lid had come right up with the cup. :smile:

Celltreat grip-ring plates. A little spendy, but they're the best I've tried.

If you let Avery's get really fully developed, which I reccomend because it grows with no veil to speak of, thwn you can see yellowing when dried from the thick layer of spores.


I think I'm gonna need to pour some plates...

Took me 6 to 8 weeks.

More likely for me when I pour plates thick, otherwise they can dry out in that amount of time.

I would guess maybe also same case with pouring higher water / lower agar mix, but haven't tested it. I found a mix I love and am sticking with it for now.

If you look at my APEU plates they were made 10/4. In 5 weeks it went from tissue sample to fully mature fruit at fastest and the other plate has a solid fruit in development. I wish I had watched it grow, the time-lapse would be awesome. APEU2 lookin promising :cool:

This was my fastest plate pin by a long way.
09.09.21 plate streaked, 09.25.21 the pin had already formed.
