How’s your PC mush boy? Is it an old one ? Maybe has something to do with the pressure cooking cycle . I’m often wrong and most likely am

Idk about that. Those satelites are all around the dish. That would make sense if it was only on one side. I say its wrapping or storage issue.

Sorry I meant to finish that though and got sidetracked. If he's reusing film makes sense it's from touching then.

I swear by the wallyworld huge pack of pp tupperwars for my frugal peers.

Bad view from top, fine from bottom. These are going on 2 weeks control as I've been struggling. Stopped all projects for a few months.

That's a tough one mushboy, have you left plates open in your flow to be sure it's a ok?

Yup. They are fine it's on my plates I wrapped. I'm wondering if I even wrapped them in the flow or if I turned the unit off:confused:

But I use to remove petris from the sab and wrap them in open air:shrug:

When I first got the unit i left a open grain jar in the flow for like an hour. That jar was clean after a few weeks so I dropped some spores in it. Should be fruiting soon.

The only thing I'm seeing is this edge sattalite mustard yellow crap.

Typical. Get the flow hood:awedance: Encounter brand new mold I've never seen:suicide:

Are you using a riser? Or working on table?

I’m gonna be honest, I been using the same sleeves to slide my unwrapped plates into for like 6 months. Sometimes 3-4 margaritas deep I just turn off my flowhood and leave a stack of unwrapped plates sitting on the table. lol don’t use a riser (edit: well sort of but just enough to bring work in line with bottom of filter)Almost never get a random satellite.

What I do religiously though, wear nitrile gloves, iso clean my gloves, tools and work surface, wrap my freshly transferred plates with agricultural grade parafilm (no paper, comes in rolls)

Mush, your space looks clean, hood in good condition. Judging by the pics posted I’d bet it’s what you’re wrapping plates with. Most of that looks like it’s coming in at edges of plates not falling in.

I know the parafilm / cling wrap debates have raged on for centuries but maybe give this a shot when you got a few bucks to blow. I love it.

:takingnotes::borfase:

i love parafilm. i only use cling wrap to wrap the stacks once poured. and again those are fine.

its only on the petris i 'use' for transfers. some of my older plates are still clean. i didnt handle them at all i just opened and streaked.

ill try cleaning my work area first and making sure im soaked in iso like the sab.

Just a thought....  :rollsafe:

Cling wrap/ plastic wrap seems to be statically magnetic (not sure the sciency term for this phenomena) to particulate in the air. It gathers things with a charge like spores and pollen and dust. Maybe removing dust covered cling wrap is a possible vector?

Parafilm is coated in paraffin wax and sticks any spores or dust up in an inescapable matrix of sticky shit. Hart to be a magnetic airfoil when your covered in wax...

I think that's just static electricity Nichrome  IME I have not any any issues with this phenomena causing contamination with my saran wrap.

~I do wipe down the whole station before every session with 95% ethanol and don't have any issues (unless I'm sloppy and user error occurs). I don't have a dedicated space and have to set up and break down the whole party each time.

Control plates are a wonderful practice if your having unidentified vectors cropping up with plates. Just open one up in front of the clean air and close it back up. If that doesn't go bad you know it is not your air or space at least, and the next step is to open one up and cool a flamed scalpel in the edge and close it back up.

I still enjoy the taste of humble pie from time to time.

70% is a better disinfectant. It evaporates more slowly so has more time to work.

I've been wrapping with cling wrap for a long ass time, my plates are cleaner than mother Teresa's Sunday panties.

You’re thinking of iso, something about the 30% water lets it into the cells to kill them.
