Anyone in the north east Victoria? Looking for some where that I can find subs, looked in a lot of areas that should hopefully have them with no luck yet. Any help appreciated.

It's rather a funny irony that three years ago my psychopathic narcissistic ex planted a mecicilium network and woodchips into my yard and pots. Then bingo, with the rain and conditions they have started to spout. Too small for great photos but had a small amount tonight, just enough for a warm, comfortable feel. Can't wait to see what the yield will be :smile: Good luck everyone in Eastern Victoria. I think it'll be a bumber season. Love and light. Jazzy.

And we are off! Although these subs are much smaller than I have previously found them in this particular spot (suburban woodchip garden.) The caps are probably 1-2cm in diameter and the stipes are 1mm thick at most. I spose we really just haven't had the genuine rain and consistently cooler temps yet *shrugs*

So has anyone sampled the goods yet? I am wondering if all 4g of these little fellas will catapult me... I chopped these guys up, brewed them for about 10mins in nearly-boiling water and the juice of a large lemon, strained and squeezed the soul out of them and then froze them into ice cubes for Satdee-week.

I haven't really got dosing right and reeeeeally wholloped myself last year.

Happened upon this patch right next to the walking track today in the Eastern suburbs. I personally have never seen so many in one spot!

First sightings I have had in Tullamarine area as of yesterday.
Saw pins last Friday and came back Thursday week.
Not too many but enought for a palm full in 10 minutes of hunting. I only took what would be enough for me and left the rest for others since I know I'm not the only hunter in the area.

No one can give you locations mate, sorry. But I'm in wang and there are mushys everywhere if i travel 40 odd minutes. Keep looking they are around.

That is a species of bearded lichen. Very pretty.

Still no love down on the Bellarine. I assume it's still not cold enough yet as the sea surface temps are still reasonably warm.

Has anyone else had any luck down this way? Don't want/need spots, just an indication of whether I'm just shit at finding them or if there's actually very few about yet.

Just a quick morning harvest, less than 100m from my front door in the inner north.

In plain sight, along a fairly busy urban walking track.

So unusual compared to last year so see mushrooms rotting in the ground.

I only ask as I have just collected quite a few from a fairly public place which had the black mulch base.



Does anyone have insight on the black mulch in particular? I found a decent little patch next to someone's driveway with that mulch. The black is apparently a dye and probably harmless, but the chips could have been treated prior?
