Depends on what its germinating on but my APE germinated thicker white than any other variety I worked with on grain and in my dishes

these are transfers from a colonized pint jar of WBS cause why not? i like what I saw :blush:

First time using an inoculation loop to go from print to agar. How do these look? I know it's sorta hard to see, but I'm getting a lot of patchy random white growth. If you see dark specks it's spores. There's also condensation on the lids.

Anybody know why mycelium would go translucent? These transfers are from a really healthy-looking rhizo plate. It’s almost like they’re reverting to germ-plate wimpy growth.

(Took some early transfers from one of these, that’s why it’s hacked up)

Could be coincidence but I’ve had this happen a lot on blue plates. We know there’s something in the red coloring that affects growth so I’m just assuming based on my experience that there’s something similar but milder in blue.

I couldn’t tell any difference in my side by sides really but maybe the extra sugars or the contrast is making it more noticeable.

I’m going to transfer some of the mycelium that’s gone translucent over to a dish without any colouring and report back.
