Man I wish someone would step by step instruct me into using bags.  I'm a tard and it needs to be drawn with crayons.
Like what bags to use, how fold em, how to pc em,  all that stuff

It has been a bit of a learning curve. It's hard to find, for me anyway, thorough walkthroughs or explanation of bag on here for some reason. Using a few different sources and some videos I've been working my way through it. Think I have my first successful one at about 30% now. Biggest issues I had were bags opening in PC, and SAB being too small. Bigger SAB helped A LOT.

For the record I'm using the .2 bags from one of our well known and beloved sponsors and using bag clamps. In retrospect the ziptie method may be the way to go but they weren't too expensive so whatevs.
I've read mixed reports on whether or not to clamp the bag before or after the PC.

layer of coir or wet verm on top and keep it moist?

Too late to do anything execpt keep them from drying out and let them finish. Place a loose zip lock or plastic shopping bag over it to act as a humidty dome.

Is that not what top fruit is?

My bags are never been that wet...I’m not knocking you here it’s just I’m always running on the dry side as far as I’m aware and can’t seem to get that extra moisture needed in there. It’s never really been a big problem as far as I can tell with the little I know or have experience on

My mycelium always seems to get dry in bag and the odd time bruises blue but I always soak for 30mins approx prior spawning to coir

I started up with buying presterilised rye bags...well just the once, before I did it myself. The purchased sterilised had that wet look...so who’s right n who’s wrong?

Good luck anyway, personally I’d spawn most things apart from that one time with the green stuff...nah, mission abort!

Spawned tub number 7 today, I ran out of gypsum so tub 7 is just coir and verm. Tub number one, spawned on the 17th, is showing pins. I made an adjustment to the top holes, removing some poly and packed less. Have got 5 more tubs to spawn, just waiting on jars to finish. Have got 5 ready for number 8 though I need to pick up some more coir.

Its Texas Orsnge Cap.

Yeah one of the jars had tiny specs of green in it and the other 3 were just really wet and bacterial looking. Was just messing around really. Wasn't expecting anything other then mold. But the mycelium fought back the competing mold and bacteria long enough to get pins.

All it is is 4 quarts of oat spawn laid down and flattened in a cheap dish pan, then I sprinkled about a 1/4 inch layer of coir over it.
And ther ya have it.

See its def contaminated
