It is a natural emotion. You will see it in dogs when you tell them off, their body language 'tail between legs' etc

But what authoritarians have done is increase and make chronic this natural emotion so as to keep you in permanent state of guilt. Hence their belief system blaming you as soon as you emerge from mama's womb. 'born in sin'. You are alright until you understand their language and beliefs, and start believing it yourself.

So what is modern equivalent? That you SHOW emotion considered 'unacceptable'. Such emotions and feelings and experiences are now deemed 'mental illness'. So there is a guilt about 'feeling what your supposed to not feel, and think what your supposed to not think, and ask what your supposed to not ask eg 'conspiracy theory', 'fake news'.


Guilt and same are different terms for similar emotions

Often I will feel guilt if I have got angry with someone and later feel that I was too insensitive, and may have hurt them.
