more shrooms=more enlightenment?
    #2365233 - 02/21/04 07:31 PM (20 years, 1 month ago)

ive done shrooms once, and i had a great time doing it. the trip i had was more of a mental one (as opposed to a visual one), and its permanently changed my perception on everything in my life. That one time i had them, i ate 2.5 grams, and i was wondering if the next time i took double that, would another wave of enlightenment hit me like it did last time? or could it even have a greater impact on my life?

It really depends on the person(as well as set and setting), but the most life-changing experience of my life was on twice the dose that you took.

Just be careful not to get locked into the mindset- that eating mushrooms will give you an enlightening trip no matter what- that alot of people seem to do. The feelings of "enlightenment" that get while tripping come from you, not the mushroom. Perhaps you should try to obtain these feelings without mushrooms, I think you'll be suprised at what can happen.

its funny that you should say that cause just a couple days ago, i talked to my friend about pretty much all things philosophical, and there were no shrooms involved. it was way more enlightening than tripping. the conversation sorted out all my thoughts i had while tripping. but all the ideas for the conversation came from what went through my mind while i was tripping, and thats why i like to think of my experience while shrooming as enlightening.

After my 9 gram trip, I hardly found it more enlightening as a 4 gram trip.

I can discuss philosophy any day!

As your life is not over (and probably not nearly over), how can you say it was permanent?

and i was wondering if the next time i took double that, would another wave of enlightenment hit me like it did last time? or could it even have a greater impact on my life?
Us old timers are all nearly-perfected Masters from decades of tripping.

Do you think taking like 5-6 grams is worth it after having a heavily spiritual experience on just 2.5 grams? Are the effects on that amount of shrooms worth striving for?

I say that the effects are permanent because my views on everything are always changing from day to day. But its been a while since I tripped and my current views on everything have remained unchanged. I did have an additional enlightening experience a couple nights ago w/o shrooms like a said earlier, but that only added to what remains unchanged. It really feels like my philosphies on things will always be similar to how I feel now, which I think constitutes a "permanent effect".

IMO high doses are almost a completely different drug than low doses. The overall shroomey feeling is there but you get a whole new wave of effects at higher doses. I think going from a 2.5 gram trip immediately to a 5-6 gram trip is a foolish decesion. If I were you I would first gain a better understanding of what mushrooms do to you and your body.

Well I can't say I know of everything thats goin on in your body when you eat shrooms, but I do have a broad idea. I've searched a little on what they do to you, and pretty much, no evidence of harmful physical effects have been discovered. You're obviously right about more mushrooms means an entirely new wave of effects, but i don't think it's a foolish descision on doubling the dose. I've talked to a few people who've done the same, and they say it's fine. I'm sure I'll be able to handle the new effects.

The funny thing about Enlightenment is that I consider it a grand feeling when everything feels known to you. This inner revelation comes welling up when everything finally makes perfect sense....

The funny thing I was getting at is that it all depends on the scope of your mind. Let's pretend you were a fairly ignorant lad. You only knew about... say... Lego toys. Nothing of the outside world, only Legos. The day that you had played with them so much that every piece was catalouged in your brain and you suddenly saw how all of "the pieces fit", BAM! Enlightenment!

Shrooms can be a powerful tool used for personal change. Think of a lesson back in school. You had the week or so of taking notes or maybe doing daily assignments. You had mini reviews to sort of reflect on what you had learned that day, to sort of get the subject of study arranged in your mind... then you had the big fucking review. Where you were suspossed to sit and take everything you had learned into consideration and understand the connections between the pieces of knowledge and basically finalize your understanding of it so it could be pulled up and used whenever necessary.

Shrooms can be used in this respect.. realizing where you have been and where you are now, and where you can head from here (come on, how many of you have sat there while coming down and thought about all the changes you were going to make in your life? )...

Its like, you are on shrooms. And you go to open the door and you realize "This is a door. I turn the handle." And then you get fed this dose of Enlightenment. You realized something that your brain recognizes as true...

So, basically, Enlightenment is always going to be there. We get desensitized to it. After opening a door so many times, that feeling of grand accomplishment and realization isn't going to be felt anymore... it becomes routine. The more you live in the moment and truly experience the action of opening the door, the more that feeling will come back to you... Turning a doorknob and opening the door can be a fucking Zen experience! Every minute muscle adjustment... its fucking insane!  :eyemouth:

And, like I said earlier, Enlightenment is going to depend on the scope of your mind. It just depends on how deep you want to go... with the right frame of mind and built-up understanding, you could follow what this life is back to the source.
Peace.

mushroom enlightenment kicks ass
they start to kick in and you and your buddies start talking and chatting
things start getting deeper, more abstract and spiritual
as the very foundations of your perception comes apart in front of your eyes so your beliefs and assumptions of the world begin to dissolve
your mind is racing with ideas and revelations so fast that you can neither fully process any one of them nor articulate them properly
ideally by the end you realize an amazing secret that will change your life
but the next day its very hard to remember
and a week later its unlikely to have any impact on day to day livin
