 Getting closer to Astral Projection...

Well, first off, it has been a long time since I have really tried to stay laying on my back at night and to just drift off, most of the time I am too tired to go at it...
Last night I was even more tired than I usually am, woke up hours earlier than normal, and I decided I didn't want to roll over and pass out, so I just sat there, zoning out...
Anyways, I really went farther than I normally have gone.. I usually eventually sort of lose the feeing in my limbs, sort of hard to describe.. and lately I have been getting this feeling down on my left side, below my stomach, it feels like something is pulling at my skin.
But ja, I ended up getting to a point where I started to feel my head and chest vibrate, and this hasn't happened before. I remember hearing about people experiencing vibrations, so I just thought I would ask anyone that does astral projection like how deeper it goes from vibrations until finally leaving the body... or getting the illusion of leaving, whatever it may be. (I installed Swami-proofing for the upcoming winter.  )
Also, I find that I barely even remember even doing this, last night or any other night. I find this really strange, because I am fully capable of thought while zoning out... I guess it is just being in a different state of consciousness. I mean, I didn't even remember it until (and this is what really gets me) today when I put in a Goofy laserdisc for the kid, and I was sounding out "Disney for her", really getting the buzzing Z sound. The vibration instantly reminded me of last night. 
Anyways, thanks for any insight you astral plane travelers might have, I have been meaning to get out and explore for so long now....

He he! That is really a misnomer. It is only Swami-resistant, not actually Swami-proof.

Well, the clerk at the store lied to me, he said "proof", not "resistant". Of course, he didn't speak English well, and I don't really understand why...
I haven't even done it yet, so I won't even make assumptions, but even if it is all in the mind, it is just something I don't want to miss out on. hehe.
I will try to read your sign though, man, if I ever get out... I could really use that money. hehe.
And Lucid, I wouldn't play with my mind if you wouldn't have kicked me out of yours.....

and an end to suffering  it's all I ever wish for.
Interesting that u enjoy astral projection and actually
strive for it. I guess it's a matter of perspective.
I get OBEs and get very interesting shifts
in conciousness within minutes of meditating...which is
exactly why I don't do it (cause I'm scared of it).
But I do realize that it's all just hallucinations and
not "REAL" (unleash the hounds on me for using that word ).
By that I mean, I don't consider that I could read the sign
next to Swami's computer or figure out anything that has
a corelation to ordinary waking conciousness.

It depends on how willing you are to take the information provided to you by this "not real" state....you can run experiments on items, such as surveying your general area....
just gotta get better at noticing the difference between internal and external knowledge.

Well, I haven't actually like projected yet. It is something I really want to be able to do, to be able to have like sword fights and shit, or to go flying....
I guess it just revovles around how centered you are and how much you can deal with experiences like that.
Your meditating thing really intrigues me, my friend. Can you say why it scares you, though?

absolutely, in fact I can pin it down to single sentence.
Fear of insanity.
When u realize that conciousness can shift so much, with
no effort at all (simply by allowing the mind to quiet
- forget any kind of chemical assistance), it
makes u wonder if u could snap into some terrifying nightmare
of psychosis permenantly and never come out of it...

btw, I don't do any fancy TM meditation either.
just simple Vipassena (insight) meditation.
i.e. becomming more aware and observing...

I seriously thought that the Universe had changed, that it had like entered an acceleration and that life was forever changed...
But that wasn't the bad thing. The bad thing is that I was close to Level 5, sitting here peaking, and the woman that was staying here to watch the kids while the people I stay with were gone (I never thought she would ever come and do this) knocked on my door, walked in, turned on my light (I was sitting by the computer) and handed me the remote for the television, asking me something about it, and I couldn't even make out what she was saying.
I took the fucker, looked at it, and pointed at a button, and she left.
If you can fucking imagine, it didn't have quite the desireable effect on me.
After I came down somewhat, I realized that the rest of the world wasn't experiencing this change, that they weren't just an elaborate illusion in my head, and I came to the conclusion that I was seriously going to have to go through life this way, and that I really knew that I wouldn't be capable of doing so and would end up in an insitution...
Once I finally realized that it would go back to normal, I was just thankful that I could go about my life as normal.
I really do understand your concern, man. The feeling of passing a point of no return is really frightful, it really makes you appreciate what you once had...
I've always went about the journey down the ole' exploration path really gradually and surefootedly, but that trip really made me aware of how I can't fuck up, because I really don't want to lose it all... tripping really is a major change in consciousness, basically psychosis, and the setting had better be really fucking controlled if you don't want to end up fucked up...

yea, and imagine this, your's was induced chemically.
Mine are induced by simply "letting go" (which, according
to New-Age guru's, is a panecea). I try to take comfort
in the fact that if meditation was really that dangerous
we'd have monks rolling down the Tibettan mountains and
wreaking havoc
but who knows man, it is an altered state of conciousness
after all, and there have been reports of psychosis induced
by meditation (well documented reports and a significant
number of them)...
so who knows... maybe I should "quit", but I don't know
what that means anymore... "quit being aware" - i.e.
constantly seek distractions ? I just don't know anymore...

I guess maybe you could work on being able to direct what you put focus on. I mean, when you are aware of so much, like on a trip or something, it is really too much to be able to function in a normal world.
I think that maybe you could try to set up some sort of mental lens that you can change depending on the situation, to allow for maximum enjoyment of life? I mean, it isn't a good thing to be in Court and to be consciously soaking in the smells and the faces and noticing all the shadows and thinking about what the judge probably did that morning....
But when you are at home, listening to some music or enjoying a conversation with someone that you are comfortable with, open the lens a little bit and soak in the details...
I guess it just comes down to whether or not you can control where you direct your awareness and how much... any ideas on how to go about this? I hope this helps. hehe.

I could only start to Astral Projection when I learned my galactic birth date. Astral Projection is a hard task when learning on your own (even sober). You have to relax. Imagine a triangle from your third eye to the bottom of your hips (sitting cross legged). Let all your energy sink to the bottom.
The silver cord from your belly button is your astral cord if you want to go back fast. So never forget that cord when doing Astral Projection.
Then bring the cord coming with your soul when in Astral Projection.
Also remember that space is infinate and the will power of your brain is great. You move like choppy through space. Sort of like jumping one point to the next and keep doing it. But very fast.
I one time visited a Buddist monk temple in Nepal once. But I was on a HBWR dose. But it seemed so real. The monks looked akward to see me floating in the temple. The monks asked how did you get here? Why are you so young? The wisest of them all stated I had a gift of some sort. I recall them all were orange and red. A temple way high up in the mountians with a big fleet of stairs. That was a crazy trip. Now I feel like I know where to go again.

Hhmm... interesting. Myself, I do it before bed (people seem to not like this), lying on my back. Maybe it is why I have never done it.. *shrugs*
I do seem to be more aware of my dreams, though, after doing the whole zoning out thing.
