You know, the hustle and bustle of western culture in which I'm sure most, if not all, of us here reside. Would you trade it all in for a hunter/gatherer existence, living in harmony with the planet - if you could?

Not all it's cracked up to be either. You would have at most a half dozen choices of possible mates with saggy boobs - most of them your relatives. The chief's word would be Law. You would have to go on long hunting parties and bring back decaying, putrid meat, eat it and like it. You would have to learn stoopid dances and mutilate your body the same as everyone else. Forget any sense of individuality whatsoever. For entertainment you would war on neighboring tribes and be dead before age 35.

If you were born into such a society and then had to live like us at an older age, your probably hate it.

Same with visa versa.

I'd say that tribal living is probably healthier for us though, so overall many would be happy. At least those who've been fucked into the peasant class in our society.

the worst thing about modern days is driving, but lotta people like it.
I finally got a good subway to office job, but it ends soon, I will probably have to fly mondays and fridays again.

I am practically at my second lifetime ending too.

Surely I'd have to kill the animal first? Buying (from a supermarket??) and then leaving it outside seems like a half assed attempt to me.

As for neck stretching, it is, I believe, only for females. As man I'd probaly be given scarification as my rite of passage. I've already got some of that:

I like the quote better in the context of the Playboy interview w/ Vonnegut.

Playboy: How do you feel about those who are making attempts at alternate social structures - such as communes?

Many Amazonian hunters would be gone for a week or more hunting monkeys for the tribe. The flesh turned putrid in a matter of days - long before they returned to camp.

Some African tribes eat dead bloated buffaloes.

The list goes on and on. Our modern sensibilities could not handle it.

I will try not to be too 'ignant'.
