How is this a troll thread?

Socialism is a major political system all over the world.

Whats absurd is the notion that being a socialist is unthinkable, that the political forum of the worldwide Shroomery should be held hostage by a very narrow political view thats only really viable in that form in one nation in the world.

Without profit motive a society has only the coercive power of the state to increase production. Without increased production living standards must decline. All Socialist states are thus inevitably forced to choose between declining living standards and state coercion. Every one in history has chosen state coercion, and gotten both. Also Capitalism does not have to be "pure" to work well, which is a strong advantage. Each increment of capitalism produces an increase in prosperity. South Korea and Taiwan prospered for many years with a capitalist economic system and authoritarian social rule. China is now in that state of mixed authoritarianism and free markets. The European "social democraceis" tried public control of capital, but have largely backed off in favor of privatization. They impose a very heavy tax burden, but still do far better than they did under socialism.

The advantage is that capitalism actually works in practice. Socialists have to rationalize the abject failures of the dozens of attempts at socialism, democratic and undemocratic, that failed in the 20th century. The rationalization is that failure came as a result of not implementing some theoretically pure form of the system. Capitalism does not require such excuses. It works well in any dose, although better in large doses. North Korea is introducing capitalist-style "farmer's markets" to ease their chronic food shortages. http://www.ieas.or.kr...

Venezuela is mostly socialist and Chile is primarily capitalist one is doing much better than the other I wonder which :wink:. As for motives to work a profit motive is the most humane and fair to everyone without you would have state sponsored coercion to get people up to do anything.

Capitalism is a failure too so what? You people have wars to cram it down other nations throats. Maybe you should try minding your own fucking business about what other nations are doing. America is great too, unless you are in the dark skinned underclass. I don't have black or mexican ghettos in my nation since we are criticizing other countries.
I say fuck capitalism. Please explain why we are raping our planet for money? I live in oil country and i fail to understand this big rush to drill it all and sell it to China. Why? What is the point of this, when everything is gone do you expect to eat the money? Whats wrong with leaving stuff in the ground for our grand children? Capitalism has no grand plan, unless consume everything until it is all gone is a plan. The market will not magically fix it itself or whatever else you pie in the sky conservatives think. Capitalism is not some perfect system, it just manged to force itself on the world via Amerikkan war machine. I look forward to it's collapse.

i've always been curious. How do you (and others who follow ideals close to your own) plan to reach your goals? Would it be by coercion? Banning traditional work place capitalism from taking place? Forcing people into the type of work place formations you want? Or would it simply be convincing people to voluntarily join said organizations?
