Quote:
property is "theft" (a ludicrous and easily-refuted notion)
please expand.
I wouldnt call property 'theft' but i would say that saying anything (other than your own body) is yours and noone else's relies on others' agreement to respect that, in order that you respect their property ownership. whose to say that any land, organism, or matter is under a singular person's control and noone else's? if the rest of society decides to discontinue to respect private property, then i don't see how you can argue that they cannot cease this.

I'm not sure if a socialist society could exist within a libertarianorwhatever system.
The socialist society would still have to compete with any other societies in the area for posession of land. Since we all know collectivist societies are not very competative against the more efficient capatalist societies, the collectivist societies would probably fail quickly. Either they would starve to death, or join "The machine"?.
On the other hand, couldn't you say that the system you speak of is in fact the system we have today?
If you want to live in a capitalist society you can move to America and do it any time you please, if you prefer socialism there's probably some socialist country looking for bright eyed collectivism enthusiasts.
Well what do you know. Utopia is already here.
Good job everybody

Either they would starve to death, or join "The machine"?. come out to pennsylvania and see how the amish people live. see how efficient their farming practices are, with oxen-drawn plows and the like. they still manage to hold their land generation after generation.
