What I want to know is how the patrons knew the waiter was gay. Did one get a BJ in the back room to confirm their suspicions? And what has sexual orientation to do with quality of food service?

I think you guys are misreading the story; the patrons refused to tip the waiter, he didn't refuse to accept a tip.
