Diploid and shroomism were arguing at the beginning of this thread. So I was curious to see if they had changed views it anything since then.

True Believers never change their views, not even in the face of stark, unassailable evidence. Witness the recent End of the World morons who now changed the date for a third time to October 21st.

Me? I change my views instantly on the discovery of new evidence that render my previous views wanting. How could I not? But in this case there's nothing to change. 2012 is almost here but not one single astronomical observing instrument in space or on Earth has seen any sign of the "Photon Band" that's coming to destroy us. Neither is there any evidence of changing "atomic vibration frequencies", whatever that means.

And even though I've seen this crazy absolute faith in silly things over and over again, it never fails to amaze me a little. Just a few weeks ago here we had several posts insisting that there are people walking the word today who are 1,500 years old. And this is in the face of hard biochemical facts that render that impossible. But people still believe it, like the End of the World nutjobs absolutely believe their own flavor of nonsense.

How this kind of primitive thinking, typical of cave-man witchdoctor times, and abandonment of rational thought can manage to persist in the 21st century is something don't think I can ever fully wrap my mind around.

I see this has already been said but to reinstate:

Getting our information from a fear mongering history channel show is not something worth posting. 2012 never had been the end of time or the end of a dimension. It's the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new. With every cycle comes a collective shift of the collective consciousness affected by it. Whether some take it to be the end of the dimension we are in, the new dimension, etc. is their choice but I wouldn't put it in that list.

Also, many of those people listed (and a lot more) never gave the specific date. Some of them gave incidents that would change. A really good example is the Hopi's. They had many things to say about the coming of the time of cleansing. Rivers of stone would flow through the valley (highways to their comprehension years ago), a house being sent into the sky (space station to their comprehension), a building of clear obsidian (paraphrased, forgot the actual words) uniting many nations but not all (the UN building made of glass to their comprehension) and so on.

It's foolish to expect the societal word of "end of the world" which means some bizarre thing will happen to wipe out all life on Earth when these people who have said such things have almost all been known to speak in metaphors.

I say 12/21/2012 should be worldwide shroom day, to kickstart the transfer of ages (or whatever bullshit the calendar predicts lol).

I don't know when we started thinking it would be the end of the world.

The only way Mayans could predict 2012 to be the end of the world, is if the Mayans observed an object with a 5ooo year orbit around the sun, and calculated its orbital trajectory and decided it will hit earth.
Very, very unlikely without calculus, planetary motion laws, or telescopes. In fact I'd say it's on the verge of impossible.

Just some egotistical religous bullshit IMO.

So we're less than a month away. I feel it's time to resurrect this thread as promised. For the record:

-No "photon band" has yet been identified by any astronomer.
-No "change in the frequency of atoms" (whatever that means) has yet been reported by any physicist.
-No "multi-dimentional light" (whatever that means) has yet been detected by the Hubble telescope.
-No change in consciousness either as the usual wars and conflicts around the world continue.
-Nothing has "engulfed" our solar system.
-No "harmonic convergence" (whatever that means) is apparent.
-No end to the "age of materialism" if iPad sales are any indication.
-No "error in time" (whatever that means) seems to be occurring.
-No "healing of planet Earth" (whatever that means) is happening.
-No "oneness and understanding to humanity" is happening to humanity.
-Nothing appears to be making money irrelevant to mankind.
-Universal human telepathy isn't working for me yet.
-No "novelty" (whatever that means) is apparent. No cycling of history. No timewave zero. No repetition of events. No nothing.

Batting zero so far...

But I have an open mind. I won't fill in the last line in the prediction inventory in the OP until next month. Something might still happen. :shrug:
