I did ask for rubbing alcohol at first. When they didn't seem to know what I was talking about, I gave them more info hoping they could help me.

I couldn't find it and wanted to nok today. I sprayed and wipes everything down with spray dettol, crept for jar holes and needle. Flamed it till glowing red though thoroughly. Did my first nok on 10 pf cakes make with organic rye flour. I did half with a b+ spore print, and half with a goodie from AndyMc, cheers for that man.

really excited to see how it comes out. Fingers crossed on no contams. I did .5cc in each of 4 holes for 4 jars and used 1cc in the last jar. I left 1cc in syringe, wondering if it its enough to use as a mother for more? I'm assuming that it is. I'll look into it more next week. Just been a bit busy. I have to be a bit careful atm though. I'm living with the parentals till I get my work visa and step dad isnt too stoked on me growing. Trying to ease him into it. Cant really do it behind his back and rather have the respect there. Think i can get him to be ok with it. Just need to grow some nice shiitake or somethin tasty like that so that he gets some out of it as well :P So i dint know if i should be keeping needles in the fridge atm. going to keep em in a cool dark place for now :smile:

You probably can find Denatured Alcohol somewhere. Works the same.

Is that turpentine? Can also get Methylated spirits. And something else that is clear colored and sold as turpentine substitute, or something along those lines. Usually sold by paint. Used for removing paint I think. Anyone able to clarify this as I'm not 100% positive on names or spelling.

well its purple so they maybe put either dye in it or something else that is probably not that cool. I'm trying to keep my grow as organic as possible. Not even letting it come in to contact with plastic except for syringes where needed of course. Anyone know exactly whats in meths spirits?

You can use it but doesnt have the same buzz as IPA. Someone said Maplins to get pure IPA, thats worth looking into.

the 1 liter can is the better option, though the spray version is pictured ignore that.

Is fine man i spray IPA all the time, its standard practise.

Primarily used for glove boxing things.

standard practice for those who don't understand the phrase

i wipe my glove box/shelves down with a damp cloth before use.
never spayed oust/ipa or any other shit in my space before going to work.

Thats your call. I use presept to clean my work surfaces, spray IPA on the autoclave bags... Its not like i spray IPA willy nilly, it has its role.

Standard practice in  a grade A sterile room so why not in my glove box?

A damp cloth just sounds a bit blag for my liking.

IPA is available on ebay in 500ml 1L 5L and 25Ls aswell as different % (100% 70% etc)

The same store also sell distilled water, and other usefull chemicals

Picked up some of this at Maplins tonight (not behind the counter though - buddy asked me if I wanted it for my xbox - umm yeah, that's exactly right).  It doesn't seem to have a percentage marked on it.  Does that suggest it's pure 100%?  If so, should it be diluted down to (say) 70%?

Anyone know a meatspace store that sells distilled water?  Searches of the Co-op, Sainsburys, Waitrose, ASDA, Boots, Homebase, B&Q, and Wilkinson websites turned up nada.
