You can ask at a local chemists/pharmacy for distilled water.
They should be able to order gallon bottles in if they don't stock it.
That's where I get mine.
£2.00 a bottle.

I was in the local Euro2 shop today and spotted Coco Coir bricks 2 for €2.
Might be useful for anyone in Ireland looking for Coir. I haven`t seen it for sale anywhere else locally.

Hydroponic grow shops have all kinds of useful stuff, from humidifiers, to water to coir etc... Good places to check out, especially if you know someone who owns one.

Sorry if my post came off as abrasive, I was only curious since it says Colorado as your location. When I posted I was wondering if you were from UK now living in US.
You've been very helpful in this thread, and I'm sorry if I offended you, that wasn't my intention.

Ok so I have had a look around the forums and wondering about Gypsum.
Cant see any UK advice on it really, as far a i know is used in food, for soil and in building. So what type to go for and where to buy in the UK for a reasonable price.
My garden Centre is overpriced, i do have a decorator shop over the road but most of their stuff is plaster with gypsum so cant see this working!
I do have Tesco down the road but haven't looked there yet.
Most of threads on here say to buy drywall, but thats just long and probably more expensive in the UK that USA.

for adding to grain prior to pc'ing i like to use gypsum bought from the home brew shop.ask for calcium sulphate. admittedly, it's relatively expensive at ~ 79p per 100g. my local shop used to sell it by the kilo for £1 but realized their was some cock-up in their pricing ,but, it does go a long way.
i keep mine in an old pepper pot, and sprinkle over the grain just before jarring.
for bulk, i now knock up some plaster, allow to dry and save. grind as and when needed. i may revert back to the "hombrew" gypsum, as the amount i grow,i only require ~ 15 g per batch.and is much easier to use.

Well i found this stuff for adding to food, cant see it being too different as Calcium Sulfate is safe to consume.
Setting the plaster before makes sense now as i was thinking the cakes would just become plaster cakes. Also a lot of effort as grinding to a powder would be time consuming and you also got other stuff in their too.
Maybe their isnt a difference, only in price as the mushrooms will eat what they can and leave what they cant.

That place gets you on shipping £5.99!! I only wanted 1 bag of gypsum for 85p, so may have to have a look around for a local shop stocking it instead.

I just got mine from an Ebay auction
That one's only up for another 17 hours, but you get the idea-about £3.

It seems like a flat rate shipping fee, I might stock up and get the maximum amount for same shipping costs.

I just bought 400g from eBay, although 3 times the price saves me finding it in stores so saves me the effort.
So cant wait to see the difference in fruits as want to try my first monotub, but may be using a shotgun as dont have the time to find a new box any time soon.

Hello fellow Brits.
Not sure if this is worth posting, but during my many searches to prepare for my first grow, I've come accross a few posts mentioning the difficulty in obtaining IPA here. I came accross a place that sells plenty at 99.9% pure here
