You can ask at a local chemists/pharmacy for distilled water.
They should be able to order gallon bottles in if they don't stock it.
That's where I get mine.
£2.00 a bottle.
Great tip. Asked at the little indie chemist next to my work, and they said they'd have it for me the next day (5L bottle). Sounds like they can get lots of 'medical' type stuff in, if you ask for it. Tongue depressors to use as hardwood for slants, 100-packs of medical grade gloves, etc.
They do seem to think I'm pretty weird for asking for this stuff though (I got a lot of questions when I asked about syringes - told them it was for cooking).
Next time I'll tell them it's all for sex games.

For anyone who might be interested in a ghetto martha setup, I spotted today that Poundstretcher are doing a walk-in greenhouse offer for £19.99. Couldn't find a link on their retro 1992 website though
They do, however, have a few other interesting tidbits in store...

They have vacuum storage bags for giants and families for sale. I will be able to keep my mum preserved for ever in that.

I'm wanting to do some lids with silicone. I keep hearing rtv. guessing this is what I want to use for the heat. Also I'm using metal lids. Does it not stick as well to the metal? I'm weird about plastics, let alone heating them. Call me old fashioned, just not into it. Feel safer with glass since its inert, and metal cause usually it just oxidizes. Opinions?
Also where can I get a cheap large say 60 mil syringe? Also regular needles will fit on em right?( I'm assuming all needles attachments are the same size can some one enlighten me?)
:EDIT:
Also wheres the cheap place to get karo? I'm thinking about using organic agave since I already have it.(for LC of course)

Aldi did have in their leaflet last week a walk in greenhouse, flappy plastic type, didn't look too bad.
They are also selling these
http://aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_13909.htmb
Which I am sure have a mycological use, but I can't think of one, but I know it must have.
