http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Exo-Terra-Hygrometer-/190392347757?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Reptiles_Spiders_Insects&hash=item2c5444ac6d That one is only 2.25 shipped. Anyone have any experience with it?
0 - 100 range on it.
EDIT: just realised that its not adjustable. Does that matter? cant i just do a towel test and see what it is and compare? I also think I have a digital one around the house? Whats the cons of using digital of any?
The Exo Terra is useless and stops at %80.... When you calibrate with a wet towel then using plyers you hold the back nut and rotate the needle, you will find that when the global forcasted is say 50% this will say 70% or when you compare to a digital low RH its 20%-25% out....

There a couple of places.
Firstly search Vacutainers in google UK and you should find 'em.
GUI Clinic..... They are lying round everywhere and when the Doc goes to put your sample under the microscope (Say you have irratable symptoms) you can pick up a load as you should know what they look like if you search google.
So are you saying to steal some of these when I go in to get tested?
Ha thats an idea. Think I'll stick with silicone ports
And thanks for the hygrometer tips.

btw has anyone used the 25ml sterile water sachets you get from the chemist for making up syringes,in the past i always just boiled water for an hour and a half, sucked it up and left it to cool but these sachets are only 44p out the chemist and would save a lot of hassle.
Just though id save you a bit of time.... you only need to boil the water for 10-15 mins

when reading some of the teks on here and it says for example "5 Quarts of Spawn" am i right in thinking this is basically 5x 1 litre jars of spawn for us over here as 1 quart = just over a litre.
therefore if 1 litre of water weighs 1000g i would use 5000g of spawn for this particular tek?
so either 5x 1000g jars or 10x 500g jars?
+ Maths pisses me off no matter how simple

That sounds logical to me. If anyone thinks otherwise please chime in.
Also, hey guys if I buy something from another country is there a tax I have to pay on delivery? I've hard that there is put I'm not sure how it works. I've heard they charge you VAT at your door when they deliver? Can anyone confirm or deny this? Does anyone have experience in something like this?
thanks for your time

If you order something from a non-eu country, and the sender declares a commercial value on the customs form (instead of saying it's a 'gift' or something) then the customs duty would be payable on delivery in most cases. I don't think VAT though, but I didn't look at the invoice in detail last time I had to pay.

Thanks for that. I searched the term customs duty, in google and got a sort of an idea but would like to know what applies to spore syringes. If anyones bought syringes from the US would you let us know what you had to extra? Thanks!

At ALDI today.
http://aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_13978.htm

Now it's a bit of over kill when it comes to sterilizing, it must hold 500mls or so of fuel, claimed usuage time is 5 hours, but for 4.99 it's a pretty good price if you need a cheap alcohol burner for cleaning needles

Good find . If I wasn't so happy with my propane/butane torch from Homebase I'd definitely be tempted by this.

Would anyone be interested in any of these
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12479100?
IF I could get them to you send for under 10 quid? Seems like thats what most use in the states. Of course they cost less then that but I would have to pay for shipping here, plus packaging and shipping to you.
Anyone interested?

This one is also magnetic and shipped from within the UK
But does that actually reach 99% and accurate at that high?

Excellent source for 1000ml mason jars in UK. Very good price (best I have found) and cheap, fast delivery. This is the 3rd supplier I've tried to bulk order from and they are the only one to deliver as promised.
http://www.justpreserving.co.uk/deluxe-preserving-1000ml-pack-p-20003456.html
They come in 12's and work out around £1.65 each. The dimensions of these jars are posted previously somewhere in this gigantic thread.
Peace and tranquility to you all.

Oh almost forgot, may be able to lay my hands on lots of free analogue hygrometers, got a few for myself the other day from a friend who meets lots of reps from scientific research companies, they dish them out as promo freebies. They seem to work fine (3 next to each other give a constant reading). If I can get any more they will be going free to any UK users who want them. Details to follow.
