considering everything in our universe is a chemical, then you are correct. If we understood every chemical in the Universe, then we would understand the Universe.

i'm curious to what you mean when you say that "if we could understand every chemical in the Universe, then we would understand the Universe."?

Isn't is possible for one to understand all parts of a thing and still not completely understand the whole?

What you say also does not seem to answer the question of consciousness. Is consciousness divisible like chemicals are? Chemicals are physical; consciousness/mind cannot be cut in half. Or so it seems. How does understanding chemicals relate at all to understanding the Universe?

To the OP, I agree. I think that certain chemicals, when treated with respect, can bring people to enlightenment. But I also think that you must bring people to their enlightened state only when they are ready. You can't force someone to understand... they have to feel it. I feel you though. I hear what you are saying. :smile:

Every pill has side-effects, and most of them are deleterious.

Maybe Shulgin will crack it in his next release. I don't think dopamine stimulators are the way forward, it appears we simply don't have enough chemicals in the brain. I take this purely from the fact all of these kind of drugs (promoting calm/wellbeing) have a tolerance so far.

So we're down to new psychedelics, global warming, atom bombs, and mayan gods for nibiru in 2012. I can feel it coming.  :levitate:

Latest book? I'll check it out as long as the writing style isn't too rigid.

IMO chemicals that bring short term calm are never going to work. Psychedelics are the only hope IMO due to the length of the afterglow but it seems a very small chance that there will ever be one good enough.
