Old habits die hard. I still like to spray the air with Oust a little while before I turn on the flow hood. Also, if I use my glovebox for a contaminated petri, I like to spray it in there.

I only use a GB. If I'm working with something thats contaminated, I give it a spray with the IPA again. I use the "wet is sticky" principle, if its wet, its stuck to where it is for now. I've though about just using water for that and only using IPA on tools , gloves, arms, etc.

I started off using that as well. I just don't like the smells that come with those things. Much prefer the alcohol

Sure thing badman, I've been promised a free syringe of micro science PO will send you some of that when i test it/get it.
Just made my 1st proper size tree oyster laundry basket, hope its not gonna go bad as I pasteurized it in this; 1st run, my thermometer attached to the outside of it was bust giving me false readings.almost 50F under par!!
Freaking nearly (possibly partially)sterilized the straw, bags went off the needle!
The barrel was a gift from a friend 200lt heavy duty ex cleaning machine barrel, very nice, indeed, covered with boiler insulation, which on reflection may have been overkill.
, it uses a Earlex wallpaper steamer to give it heat.
Gets ridiculously hot in there, bag temp was up to 220F, i was under the impression the steam would keep all subs at 150F ish.
We'll see how the basket works out anyway, might get lucky, plenty spawn in there and its a vibrant strain of tree!
Need to automate the steamer somehow to turn the steamer off, and also must remember when checking the bags inside with the 2nd thermometer, not to burn my face off.
ANy one got any ideas how tame this beast?

If you are comfortable with electricity, get one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/dual-safety-thermostat-7/21275 and one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/tank-coupler-15mm/82376 Cap an 8" bit of 15mm copper pipe, mount inside tank using tank coupler, put thermostat probe inside pipe(from the outside!), set to 65C and use it to switch the supply of the steamer. Don't forget to earth it and insulate it well! Dont see why it would not work.

Nope. Still sitting there,I was going to re-incubate for a while but I dont have an incubation chamber at the moment. No mould though so maybe I will cold shock it and put it in my new grow room. Yep the strain I got from you.
BTW I left a petri of that wild Enoki I cloned, at about 13-14C and it fruited off the agar between the dish and the parafilm!
