Hey any one with the 14L hawkins.
How many bags can you get in it? I'm assuming 2 pretty easily. I pet 3 is possible, but I dont want to chance not getting a full sterilisation out of a run by over packing it.
I want to try doing some rye bags in it and see if I can get cubes to work in bags. Would save me tons of work with my little jars. I had bag luck with my 6L, but it may have been becuase of bag spawn/ not sealing bags properly.
I also want to get about ten bags of reishi going and a mono of it.

Root bark. Had an email from vender today said they had half of their order arrive which had been opened by customs. If it was being treated like class A I don't think they would of released it.

Was just looking at micro-science and seen a mini greenhouse/propagator thing called a Vitopod.. It looks amazing. The description isn't that good on micro-science but here's a better link http://www.greenhousepeople.co.uk/accessories/propagation/vitopod_propagator_double_layer/#3
I love the fact it can be layered. It's a lot of money, but damn it would be a really handy investment.

The most ingenius idea came to my head there that I hadn't thought of before for getting all cheap jars.. ever heard of the website http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/ ? Well you can by cheap food off there as it's mostly past best before dates but still in use date.. well to cut a long story short - I thought JARS. First thing I see in the deals section are these
They are shredded cabbage or something, 810g so I'm guessing that these jars would be in excess of Litre jars. They are a brilliant shape too. Guess what - 60p each. Not only that, but for every jar you buy you get 10p knocked off the delivery price (which up to 30KG's is only £5.25 anyway lol) - So to get 24 jars delivered to my house would cost a grand total of £17.25 inc p+p
You should use this site when you want jars.
These sexy jars are so getting used for schlerotia!! I even like cabbage.

What a great site. I might start to do my shopping on there.
I just treated my self to a case of 24 canning jars, might need to get a bigger PC now. Don't tell the Misses.

Thats the place. I place my order but am going to have to wait a week, they don't have them in stock atm. It'll give me time to break the news to the wife, she doesn't know about the jars either or the 25kg bag of rye thats on the way.

I believe I bought a 10kg bag of the same stuff. It seems fine, but you do have to grind it a bit if you want a fine powder (coffee grinder works)

would be ideal?
Cheers.
I wouldn't waste my money on jars for pf-tek again. I been there done that. Use glasses.
http://www.fungifun.org/English/Pftek
See how they use them there.
Just make sure they are the similar size and shape. You dont want tall skinny glasses.
Some one a few posts up just posted the link to the wilkinsons glasses that they use. I think they were 4 for 80p. Just use foil for the lid.
Base Icks is right there. For PF-Tek you can acheive very good results just by using mixer glasses from Wilko's for 79p for 4, rather than £8.95 for 12. I'd highly recommend these for anyone starting out growing shrooms.

I can has cheap jars?
48 1L jars for £27.20 Delivered.
http://www.jamjarshop.com/buy/lotsofspots48x16oz/?catid=43
Score.
Thats proper tempting. Fuck I'm salivating.
I emailed them to ask how long they will be on sale for.
I dont know if I need that many jars but I want that many. I'm so sick of having to do 20 440g jars to equal the capacity of 9 1L jars. Hell even my 750g jars take 4 jars to equal the capacity of 3 1L jars.
Hmmm anyone else interested in 24 of those jars? Maybe we could split the order and have them ship to us separate. I'll ask if any one else is interested. In theory if they would let us do it that would cost 17.80 each for 24 jars each.
They aren't 2 piece lids but who cares? I have never used a 2 piece lid yet.
EDIT:
So I was looking around the site some more and found this. Same jars with out the labels. 2 dozen for 18.90 shipped. Still not bad. Not bad at all.
You don't get any cabbage with them, but they look slim and should be able to fit more in a pc I suspect.
:RE_EDIT:
So I'm an idiot. I thought that they were 1L jars. Only 500ml.
