Yes, but we can only make ourselves understood and reach a consistent agreement if we are talking about things that exist (and no, existing only in one's mind is not sufficient ), on things that have a fixed definition and that can be verified. "God" doesn't have any of those qualities.

Yes, this is exactly we need to verify if they correspond to reality or not, and if they don't then off to M&P with them.

Between those who I want to be in on it, and those that I don't.

In Rome I believe they named that line 'Jesus'.

It's amazing how some people fail to recognize that everything they say is of their own personal opinion, and most often biased.

I salute your ability to recognize.

In my opinion, you are only a God when you have some of this going on in your name.

People used to think the Pharaohs were gods. Not because he was an omnipotent being, but because a Pharaoh had so much more power and status than an average human (slaves) that they couldn't comprehend him as being anything less than a God.

Now...does a God have to be immortal and all knowing? Or just incredibly powerful?

If the first is the case, you draw the line between humans and gods with the fact that we are prone to illness, disease, and decay. If you dont.....well, an elephant would be a God to an ant.

Many philosophical debates are based on concepts of the mind alone. Shall we not discuss them?

Shall we not even contemplate anything other than regurgitated and borrowed methods of "proving" ones reality?

I am not asking you to believe in frolicking unicorns, or god for that matter.

You mentioned the question was biased, and I responded that all thought is biased.

Especially those who are so strongly opinionated.

Give me an example of a fact that can be "verified".

And I mean by you personally.

Something that YOU know as fact, without regurgitating established beliefs and information of others that you have merely accepted as fact, because they mesh with the network of other people's "facts" that you have accumulated since childhood.

Tell me what you really know of reality.

I think the concept of playing god means that humans are able to preform what people view as "god like" feats, but we are not able to predict exactly what consequences these feats will have in the future. I guess the difference is that an all powerful god would completely understand the concequences of its action, where as a human can only make an educated guess.

Anything can be discussed philosophically, and, when an idea doesn't stand, when there's not sufficient evince to sustain the existence of whatever is being presented by a specific idea, then the discussion is being re-orientated towards something that makes sense.
I hope you understand that disagreeing is not the same thing with not discussing, since we are obviously discussing right now.

People can contemplate on whatever floats their boat, but, when this contemplating takes place in a debate oriented forum, these ideas can be challenged and it is in the duty of the one who made the statement to show it's validity. I thought this was basic stuff already.

I don't see how this statement has anything to do with this topic, and it seems that you are unable to see the difference between discussion of ideas and personalisms. I will now answer to emotional and irrational posts which have nothing to do with fruitful conversation in the future.

You're only repeating yourself with things that have nothing to do with the topic, and I an not here to give basic lessons on reality.
If you are so interested on how one can verify the truthfulness and validity of certain things, I suggest you do your own reading and research in this direction and come back to discussion when you reached a basic understanding on the difference between real and imaginary and the means that we have (until now) to make the proper delimitations.

What does this mean?

Since there is no evidence of God all actions in our experience come from being human. Thats the end of it.

It's funny when people cram down your throat what they think is reality.  Makes you feel on top of the world hey.  God bless the pseuds.

That's funny, I was just thinking about Freud; and time travel.

Reality versus imaginary is a matter of definition. In engineering we often use fields of mathematics which utilize imaginary numbers (the literalism of which you may feel free to debate!) in order to eventually construct meaningful scenarios to which there are no direct path. The difference between real and imaginary is not a question of existence; but of adherence to strictness. If you are caught with your imagination out in a social scenario you are more vulnerable than if you are sticking to the textbook.

In the end it will be the one who keeps a cooler head- while defining which part of the imagination is right- who is able to successfully pretend he is not pretending at all.

And forgive the righteous!
Now repent about it.

...so do you think the things she sees as real are actually not real?

All ideas we project onto experience and the world are of imagination, IMO.  But of course the imagination has a reality of its own.

Taking these ideas as reality is the biggest of illusions, it shows that one has not realized their own conceptual cage.

This is especially true when one thinks their conception of reality is more real than another's.

Quite likely.
You have my agreement.

Would the solution to live in entirety of illusion then, be optimal?

Or would it be self defeating? (since I see you are not.)

Or would it simply be a dream to elusive to ever catch?

Manifesting awareness and mindfulness in day-to-day life seems to bring a greater recognition of the illusion.

This way, there will be more power over the illusion's ability to deceive.

Or so it would seem.

Wouldn't these statements represent your conception of reality, which you have implied is more real than the conception in which reality is not an illusion?
