Athiest Death Theory

I am deeply curious about this. Lets say for a moment, that there is no afterlife. For all you people who believe this currently, I want to know what you think happens to the conscious being when someone dies.
Of the current theories I've heard:
-Upon death, every aspect in life stops You are permanately stuck at the very thought/moment of death.
-You slip into an unconcsious state (asleep for the rest of time)
-Life repeats itself. You go through the exact same life without any recollection of the cycle. If we don't remember life before birth, we won't remember life after death.
I want to hear your ideas. What do you think happens to you when you die?

I believe in some form of reincarnation. Maybe here on earth or in a total different galaxy. I am not an atheist though, not totally.

I believe we go thru some states of conciousness untill we make part of the "whole" again, i believe in reincarnation as a process to improve the "whole" by letting the individual imrove himself aquiring knowlodge. The more awared we are about the "whole" and how it works, the more knowlodge will be driven between both the individual and the "whole".

Is there such thing as an individual? I feel there is only a 'whole.' Everything in the cosmos is all one. All existence is interbeing. Would you be alive without trees, clouds, sunshine, water, or love? All elements are in you, and you are in all elements.

Hmm....this is a tough one. It all depends on what you think consciousness is. If consciousness is simply a product of the workings of your brain, then consciousness as we know would have to disappear upon death....I'm not so sure I entirely believe this. Consciousness could be considered one of infinitely many expressions and collections of energy throughout the universe, as well as could your body (obviously, I could never prove this...). Upon death, the energy that constitutes your mind and body would leave its current manifestation, and continue its flow through the universe, manifesting itself once again in another form. What happens to your consciousness itself, though? the experience that we call consciousness? I really couldn't tell you, it's far beyond my own comprehension and I'm not even going to attempt to explain it. I don't think it continues to exist as we experience it now, and it may not even exist at all after death. The energy that makes up our consciousness probably does not even come together again as a whole, it more likely is randomly dispersed, to become parts of other physical matter and consciousnesses.

i have 3 beliefs: 1)we jus die life ceases to be eveything for us is over, mind, body, everything, over.
2) the concious repeats the life once lived forever (like a DVD on repeat except ur in it) and this explains deja vu.
3)we become a ghost either one happy and concious of his death and ready to continue his exsitence as a ghost ( i dont believ ghosts dont socialize, jus only with the dead they kno), or we are ghost not ready to handle our demise so we go on bitchin to everything and every1 we once knew (never socializing until we realize its of no avail) and those we dont but dont like, wutever. these kinds of ghost i believe to be the religious ghosts upset becuz of the false promise of heaven and god etc.
if anyone cares to kno my thoughts further i suggest lookin on the post i jus made on the " are atheists ________? yes indeed" i think its called thread. i kno its a dead thread but i brought it back, lol i had too i took it as a slap in the face.

"Life after death" related questions have amazed, troubled and inspired man for thousands of years.
But even now, with the current technology, we have no answer.
Well, in my opinion, there *is* something after death. There are two possibilities:
-the conscience dies, and the void takes place; -the conscience lives
In the first case, I don't care. Without my consciousness, I cannot get bored, because I am not aware anymore. I will not be aware of time either, because our awareness of time resides in our consciousness. Therefore, if something related to after-life is to happen a million years after I die, it will only take a fraction of a second for it to happen when I pass away in this world; I'm sure I can wait that, right?
However, if my conscience stays when I die, more things can happen. But, if conscience stays, it's because there is obviously something after death.
While death sounds pretty exciting to me, I'm sure I can wait a little more...

>and this explains deja vu.
they already have a scientific explanation for deja vu. something about one side of your brain processing the experience on a short delay. so something happens and half of your brain takes it in, then by the time the other side of your brain gets to it, you think... gee, that's weird... i swear this has already happened.
that's what i've read anyway.

Choda's reply is, simply, what I believe death to be like.
What do you think happens when an ant dies? The same thing that happens to a human.
Death will mimic to infinite exactness, the time before you were born.
I don't consider myself a complete athiest, I certainly have a bit of an agnostic side. But my main belief is that, there is NO afterlife.

Life after death depends on the individuals state of being. The same as this life is so different between individuals. Some of us live a great life, and others don't.
For me there is no doubt about being for eternity.
