Supposedly Matt Walsh has a tape of the patriots recording the Ram's walk-through practice before Super Bowl 2002.

Yeah, the development seems to be the fact the NFL isn't acting like they don't want to talk about this anymore. They seem completely willing to investigate Walsh now, which is great but I really don't think anything will come of it. The Patriots agreed to not pursue any legal action if he talked, but I really don't think it would have been that easy if they knew he had something.

I agree to a great extent. I was more mocking the fact that is seems like every where you turn there's something else messed up in pro sports.

I think it's just a result of the greater exposure.

I'm sure if there were 6 24-hour news channels devoted to breaking down the minutiae of New Jersey Power & Gas' performance this week you'd see a bunch of fucked up things going on there as well

There are just so many people trying to find stories about sports that it's nearly impossible to hide anything nowadays.

Yeah, it sells. It's funny to think how it would have been back in the "golden eras" if they had all this 24-7 coverage and paparazzi. I'm thinking about Mickey Mantle and how instead of a reputation as a playboy and 500+ home runs, you've got a guy in and out of rehab and who knows what kind of career.

People cheat in pro sports. Always have, always will.
